Teen Mom: The Next Chapter: Mackenzie McKee's boyfriend Khesanio tells her father that he wants to propose... and he gives his blessing

Mackenzie McKee's boyfriend Khesanio stunned her father when he revealed that he wanted to propose to his daughter on Thursday's episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter on MTV.

Mackenzie, 29, - who split from ex-husband Josh Evans back in July 2022 after eight years of marriage - was excited putting the finishing touches on her new cheer gym when her boyfriend Khesanio pulled Mackenzie's father Brad aside to talk.

Mackenzie had just introduced the Mayor of the town of Palmetto at the opening of her gym and finished the ribbon cutting ceremony when Khesanio and Brad snuck away. Khesanio told Brad that he had already gone to look at rings.

'I didn't buy it yet because I want to ask you first,' Khesanio said.

'Well, I just want you to know you're the kind of man that I wanted for my daughters. Your sense of humor, the way you love, oh my goodness Khes, you don't even know. I wish her mom could see it,' Brad said, referring to Mackenzie's mom Angie, who passed in 2019 from lung cancer.

'This is the happiest I've ever been,' Khesanio said.

'You got my blessing,' Brad said.

The episode titled My Past Is Whooping My A** opened with Mackenzie planning the grand opening of her new cheer gym which she said was a huge dream of hers. Her dad Brad stopped by to help and visit with her kids. Brad told her was really proud of what she had accomplished. Mackenzie took her father Brad to the gym to help her get ready.

'This is all of my dreams in one building,' Mackenzie said.

Mackenzie was so happy that she was finally opening her cheer gym but wished her mother was around to see it. When Mackenzie went out with her father, Khesanio called his mother Angie and said he was thinking of asking Mackenzie's father for permission to marry his daughter.

'I'm a little nervous,' Khesanio told his mother. 'Wish me luck!'

Cheyenne Floyd, 30, said she was coming around to the idea of having another baby with her husband Zach. She was pushing Zach to settle on a job for their financial stability.

'If we are going to do it, it needs to happen now,' Cheyenne said.

Zach wanted to sign up for an EMT class but was worried because he had a felony on his record and was still on probation for DUI that it would prevent him from becoming a firefighter.

'I just feel it's just hindering me with moving forward,' Zach said.

Zach told her was going to sign up for the class but got testy when Cheyenne pushed him to do it.

Jade at her house in Indiana with her husband Sean was excited to go on a vacation to Los Angeles and take her kids to the theme parks.

Leah took her daughters Aliannah and Aleeah to meet with their West Virginia state representative Kayla Young. They asked her if she would propose a law about having a sex education class in school.

'I want to prevent them from going through the same experiences that I went through,' Leah said.

Kayla said there was already a law in place and that there had been bills to even prevent sex education from happening in the schools.

'Your teacher should be talking about what healthy relationships look like,' Kayla said. ' What consent looks like. What good communication looks like in those situations.'

Leah found the talk was productive and that her children learned from talking to the rep. When one of her daughters had an issue where a teacher didn't let her out of class to go to the bathroom when she had her period, the girls came up with an idea to make period care packages with pads and tampons and put them in the bathroom for people who couldn't afford them.

'The first time I started my period I was in 5th grade,' Leah told them. ' I actually didn't even know what a period menstrual cycle, I didn't know any of that was. I thought I was bleeding to death. I thought I was dying.'

Later Jade flew to Los Angeles and her daughter Khloie was excited. After visiting several theme parks, Jade went out with Cheyenne for some girl time. Jade said Sean was in school for home inspection and was excited about it.

'I think that's the disconnect Zach and I are having right now,' Cheyenne said.

'He's not a felon, right?' Jade asked.

'He is,' Cheyenne said. 'Yes, my friend is a felon.'

Cheyenne said she was trying to encourage him to do some kind of work to bring stability to their relationship.

'You sound like me so you are over his shoulder,' Jade said. 'Come on, let's get it going.'

Jade said she encouraged Sean to do something that would make him happy and was realistic. Jade said there was a fine line between being encouraging and being annoying. Cheyenne said when she talks to him he tells her that she sounds like was talking to him like she was his mother.

'You think that's affecting your guys' relationship right now?' Jade said.

'100 %,'Cheyenne said.

Jade encouraged her to figure it out now. Later they went out with their husbands to a painting place where they put on jumpsuits and painted together. Afterwards, they went out to dinner. Sean said he would like another baby with Jade.

'Just pop her out, I'll take care of the rest,' Sean said.

'We keep going back and forth and keep having this conversation,' Jade said. 'I think it's because I had a baby young and I didn't have the support. So I think I should have been more scared when I was younger. I think I'm more scared because I'm older and because I'm more self-aware.'

Jade said her daughter Kloie is constantly asking now for a sibling.

'I'm working on it,' Jade said.

'Whenever you're ready,' Sean said.

Sean told Zach that he was taking courses to get certified to do home inspections. Sean said he was just trying to make a commitment to something.

'One thing that helped me come to terms with life being nothing but important big decisions for the rest of your life was getting down to the reasons why I was even feeling the way I was feeling,' Sean said.

Sean said counseling and therapy helped him. He said he learned it when he was in treatment to be positive all the time. Sean also told him to not hold back in his relationship.

Zach went later and met up with his father and Cheyenne's father to get their advice. He worried it would take him a while to become a fireman. He told them that he had been procrastinating and then encouraged him to get started.

'I want to get my record expunged,' Zach said.

Zach made an appointment to look into getting his record expunged. He learned he had to wait until he was off probation.

'My past is whipping my a** in every way,' Zach said.

'I think you just continue to grind, buckle down, hone in whatever it is that you want to do,' Cheyenne said. 'But I will not wait forever.'

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter will return next week on MTV.
