Madonna took the opportunity to recall the days when she was quickly moving from conquering the club scene in New York City to topping the pop charts and helping to repopularize dance music after consumers turned on it at the end of the disco era.

'The Fun gallery was where it all happened! Keith Haring’s paintings adorned the walls,' she continued, recalling the classic pop artist who whose art continues to grace gallery and museum walls — and who was a good friend to her ex-Basquiat. 'And Young artist and musicians were always welcome.'

She called the early 1980s 'a time when art, music and culture were side by side, hand in hand. When artists supported one another………………..♥️.

'So grateful to have experienced this moment in Time,' she concluded.

The memory-inducing photo was presented to the Material girl by her longtime manager Guy Oseary.

In it, she was dressed in a black jacket with a white blouse featuring crimson trim.

She also had a black hat on, while her shaggy blond bangs peaked out and were swept to the side to put the spotlight on he comical grimace and burgundy lips.

Basquiat was the embodiment of casual cool in a light brown leather jacket and a blue-and-white jersey, while sporting the towering asymmetrical locks that he's most identified with.

The graffiti artist Futura 2000 — who now goes by simply Futura — wore a multicolored sweater and a black driving cap that ironically made him look like a cop, while Easy gee had on a red-and-white striped jacket and a black beret.
