On Thursday, Nina Dobrev proudly announced via Instastory that she got to wear 'a chunky heel to dinner last night for the first time since April.'

The 35-year-old Vampire Diaries alum is on month three of her nine to 12-month recovery from a dirt bike accident in May, and she underwent surgery in June for her torn ACL, injured meniscus, and fractured tibial plateau.

Nina was also feeling well enough on Wednesday to slap a nude compression sleeve brace over her left knee and hit Huntington Beach, CA with a trash picker and a bucket for Shiseido Blue Project's annual clean-up during the 2024 US Open of Surfing.

'This is what I collected from the beach after only 15 minutes,' Dobrev - who boasts 45.7M social media followers - wrote via Instastory.

'Keep the beaches clean people. Please pick up after yourselves, and if you see someone else's trash please pick it up!'

The Bulgarian-born, Toronto-raised beauty told People at the environmental event that her doctors 'were pretty surprised' that she's 'a little ahead of schedule in terms of healing.'

'I think I'm doing pretty well,' Nina (born Nikolina Dobreva) said.

'I didn't realize it meant nine months to a year of recovery. So I'm only on month, maybe three and a half now. So there's still a ways to go. And a lot of times at this point in the healing process, people get re-injured because they feel fine. And so they start doing normal things. So I have to kind of remind myself that I'm still healing and there's still a little bit of time to go.'

Dobrev just returned from France where she and her boyfriend since 2020 - three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White - managed to attend the star-studded festivities surrounding the Olympic Games Paris 2024 despite her serious injury.

'I mean, especially the Olympics,' the Reunion actress gushed of his support.

'Like I said, I'd never been before, so I had no idea how much walking there is. All those streets are closed, so you have to walk from venue to venue and do all these things. And so he prearranged to have a wheelchair there so that I wouldn't have to walk as much. We had my canes and he was there by my side taking care of me the whole time.'

Shaun - turning 38 next month - officially retired from professional sports after finishing fourth at the 2022 Winter Olympics in the halfpipe competition.

On July 28, Nina claimed that her injury was 'the universe telling me to slow down' and yet she very clearly has not showed any signs of slowing down.

'As someone who identifies as a "highly independent person" who is a "busy body" that can't sit still, this has been an especially challenging time,' Dobrev explained.

'Being immobile and having to be so dependent on others hasn't been easy. Asking for help is even harder, but I haven't had a choice. My community of friends, have really showed up for me in such a beautiful way.'
