Jenna Ortega has revealed a bizarre item she stumbled on when spending time at the California home of eccentric director Tim Burton.

While the Beetlejuice director is known for his gothic cinematic style, it appears that his home décor reflects this too.

'You walk in and it's the huge throne from Alice in Wonderland, the actress, 21, told Vanity Fair

She then revealed: 'There's a jar of eyeballs in the bathroom.'

The Edward Scissorhands filmmaker is also known for carrying small statues in his pockets, items Ortega refers to as 'his little creatures.'

The former Disney star worked with the iconic director on the hit Netflix show Wednesday, which is now in production for its second season, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which debuts in theaters September 6.

'He just pretty much plopped a script in my hand, and it was Beetlejuice,' the actress said.

'A majority of the last year and a half has felt very far from me,' Ortega told the outlet, describing the experience as 'very dissociative and alien and out-of-body.'

'When people mention my name, it’s almost like my name has been taken from me. Now I just feel like I’m floating and…I’m up for interpretation.'

What's not up for interpretation is the young stars devotion to her craft. She has been a working actress since age 10, working in small parts in a variety of guest appearances until being cast as the title character in the 2014 YouTube series Know It All Nina.

Ortega also played Young Jane to Gina Rodriguez's adult character in Jane the Virgin for several years.

Ortega has been in Dublin, where she is shooting season two of Wednesday.

After getting some bad press following her admission on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepherd and Monica Padman, that she behaved in an 'almost unprofessional' manner on the set of the hit show based on the Addams Family, the young actress seemed to be re-thinking her approach.

'To be fair... I probably could have used my words better in describing all of that. I think, oftentimes, I’m such a rambler.' she explained.

'I think it was hard because I felt like had I represented the situation better, it probably would’ve been received better.'

Now a producer on the show, Ortega is excited to officially have a say in what Wednesday does and says.

Ortega, 21, has been working with the iconic director on season two of Wednesday in Dublin, which she hinted will feature new villains and supernatural abilities. 'We¿re doing this thing now where Wednesday just kind of appears. She is a little bit of a jump scare herself'

'Things like that, I live for,' the Emmy nominee asserted.

While not going into detail, she hinted season two of Wednesday will have new villains, supernatural abilities and more of a horror feel, but not too scary.

'I mean, there’s six-year-olds watching,' she said.
