Post Malone angers fans for duetting with ANOTHER country singer as they beg him to go back to rap - weeks after breaking streaming records with his and Morgan Wallen's hit collaboration

Post Malone fans are pleading with him to return to making rap ahead of the release of his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, which comes out next Friday.

Although the singer is currently taking the country music scene by storm following the release of his history-making duet, I Had Some Help, with Morgan Wallen, some social media users took to X to express exhaustion other his genre shift.

Following his announcement that he is releasing another single with country music legend Tim McGraw, weeks after releasing Pour Yourself a Drink with Blake Shelton, a number of X users began stating that the rapper is 'overdoing the country stuff.'

'It feels forced now,' one tweeted.

Another wrote: 'As much as I LOVE all the collabs, I’m really hoping for a Posty-only country song. And if we’re REAALLLYYY lucky, a whole album.'

'Post Malone is collecting country singers like infinity stones. Blake Shelton, Morgan Wallen and now Tim freakin McGraw...this album is gonna be SO GOOD,' a third predicted.

A fourth posted: 'I miss the old MALONE [crying emoji] come back.'

Others pleaded with the performer to 'bring back trap malone' and rap.

'I don’t get it, he went from rapping and trying to thug out to trying to be a rockstar and rock out and now he’s trying to be country someone help this man he is lost for sure,' another asked.

On Tuesday, Post announced his and McGraw's single, Wrong Ones, would be 'coming next week.'

In addition to sharing a snippet of his latest collaboration, Post shared a few photos of him skeet shooting.

His upcoming album has a whopping 18 songs and will also have features by Hank Williams Jr., Dolly Parton, Luke Combs, Sierra Ferrell, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Hardy, Brad Paisley and Billy Strings.

Although he rose to fame for his music that blended various genres including hip hop, pop, R&B, and trap, the performer (born Austin Richard Post) primarily grew up in Grapevine, Texas, outside of Dallas.

He initially grew up in Syracuse, New York until he ended up moving with his family to The Lone Star State, at age nine, when his dad took a concessions job for the Dallas Cowboys.

While appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience last year, Post said his favorite country artists include Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers and Colter Wall.

He also raved about loving the traditional country sound and praised Wall and Childers for keeping it alive.

Malone began his musical career in 2011, and gained recognition with his 2015 debut single White Iverson, which would peak at number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Since then he has released four more studio album: Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), Hollywood's Bleeding (2019), Twelve Carat Toothache (2022), and most recently Austin (2023), which debuted at number two on Billboard 200.

A departure of sorts from the hip-hop-driven sounds of its predecessor, Austin has been described as being more centered around an alternative rock sound, with touches of synth pop and indie pop.

Fueled by the singles Chemical, Mourning, Overdrive and Enough Is Enough, last year's release became his fifth straight album to reach top five status, en route to accumulating more than 101.14 million on-demand streams of songs from the LP.

In April, he was featured on the lead single, Fortnight, off Taylor Swift's album The Tortured Poets Department.

Post is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 14, two days before F-1 Trillion is released.
