Superhero film fans across the globe were thrilled by Chris Evans' unexpected cameo in the record-braking new Deadpool & Wolverine movie.

While some might have expected the star to appear as his most famous character, Captain America, the actor actually reprised his first comic book hero role as Johnny Storm from 2005's Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Taking to Instagram after the film was released, Chris gushed: 'Thank you to [Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy] for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie!

'Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he'll always have a special place in my heart.'

The delightful cameo helped pay tribute to the 20th Century Fox blockbuster adaptation of the beloved Marvel comics which starred the likes of Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Kerry Washington, who have all enjoyed success in their acting careers.

Jessica has since enjoyed parts in hit films such as Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Barely Lethal, and Mechanic: Resurrection.

However, she went on to launch The Honest Company in 2011, a company that has since achieved a valuation of $1.7 billion.

Although still acting, Ioan's career has been overshadowed in recent years by his messy public divorce and custody battle.

Here, DailyMail.com takes a look at where the cast of the original movie adaptation are now...

Chris Evans was steadily making his mark in Hollywood when fans fell in love with his portrayal of the cheeky and charismatic Johnny Storm in 2005.

He followed this success with celebrated parts in graphic novel adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, murder mystery Knives Out and dystopian drama, Snowpiercer.

He won hearts with roles in romantic comedy films such as The Nanny Diaries, What's Your Number and Playing it Cool.

Chris also showcased his ability to take on more moving roles with his directorial debut, Before We Go, as well as family drama, Gifted.

However, he truly became a household name as Steve Rogers/ Captain American in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He kicked off his time as the superhero in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, and last appeared as the character in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Chris spoke about his interest in reprising the character during a 2022 interview with MTV News.

'Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day,' he said. 'That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows?'

During his career, Chris dated the likes of Jessica Biel, Minka Kelly and Jenny Slate but preferred to keep his love life out of the limelight.

He married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, 27, in September 2023 after two years of dating. The pair enjoyed an intimate ceremony held at a private estate in Cape Cod.

Jessica Alba had already enjoyed success with roles in TV series, Dark Angel, as well as playing the lead character in the dance movie, Honey.

In 2005 she made waves in graphic novel adaptation Sin City, which was quickly followed by her turn as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four.

She went on to star in notable roles throughout the late-2000s and early-2010s in films including Good Luck Chuck, The Eye, and Little Fockers, the third film in the Meet the Parents series.

However, she really carved a lane in action films thanks to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Barely Lethal, and Mechanic: Resurrection.

But Jessica's greatest career success came not in Hollywood but from her business The Honest Company which she cofounded back in 2011.

Becoming a mother inspired the star to create a company which provided alternatives to baby products with potentially harmful ingredients.

Since then the baby and lifestyle brand has grown to sell clothing, cleaning products and beauty items such as skincare and makeup - with the company being valued at $1.7 billion in 2021.

After 12 years at the helm, Jessica stepped down as Chief Creative Officer in April 2024, though she will continue to give 'strategic advice through [her] role on the board.'

After high profile relationships with the likes of Mark Wahlberg and Derek Jeter, Jessica fell in love with Cash Warren while he was working as director's assistant on the set of Fantastic Four.

The pair tied the knot in May 2008 and they share daughters, Honor, 16, and Haven, 12 and six-year-old son, Hayes.

Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd was already a well-established name by the time he took on the iconic role of Mister Fantastic.

From small but memorable roles such as Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic, to Horatio Hornblower in the Hornblower TV movies, the RADA-trained thespian was a familiar face to many.

After Fantastic Four, his career appeared to stall compared to the heights many had expected for an actor that had once been a name thrown into the hat to take on James Bond.

He enjoyed parts in TV series' such as Ringer and UnREAL, while he starred alongside Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in blockbuster flick, San Andreas.

Ioan found his career gaining a second wind during the successful run of the British psychological thriller, Liar, in 2017.

More recently he starred alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

However, it is Ioan's personal life that has kept his name in headlines following his very bitter split from his wife of 14 years, Alice Evans.

The actor filed for divorce in March 2021, shortly after Alice claimed on social media that her husband of 14 years was walking out on her and their two daughters, Ella, 14, and Elsie, 10.

In October 2021, Alice then took to Twitter to claim to her 29,000 followers that her estranged husband had been cheating on her for three years with a much younger woman.

By February 2022, Ioan responded by filing for a restraining order, submitting 113 pages of unhinged texts and emails that had not previously been made public.

In his court filing, the actor claimed he told Evans that he wanted out of the marriage in August 2020 and that since then, she had harassed him.

By July that year, Ioan filed for sole custody of their daughters before he successfully obtained a three-year restraining order against Alice.

The pair are still locked in an acrimonious legal battle with Alice filing for child and spousal support on July 2, 2024.
