Mackenzie Ziegler, who often goes by Kenzie, made the jump to purchase her very first home at age 18.

While gracing the cover of Home Beautiful, the Dance Moms star, 20, showed off her brand new Los Angeles abode, where she loves hosting her friends and family.

During her interview with the magazine, she opened up about her taste in décor and how making big decisions, like where to put down roots, have taught her about her true self.

'I was always so scared to make my own decisions with everything—I always needed a second opinion,' she told the outlet . 'Nowadays, I’m really listening to my brain and my heart.'

For the cover shot, the younger sister of dancer, Maddie Ziegler, modeled a white long sleeve shirt and trendy straight legged jeans while posing on her couch in front of a carefully curated gallery wall.

Mackenzie, who typically goes by her nickname Kenzie, explained that she wanted her home to reflect her personal style, balancing both minimalist and maximalist styles that she refers to as 'controlled chaos.'

Much like her fashion choices that range from baggy jeans to mini skirts and even hoodies, the reality star implemented the same changing concept in her decor.

'I was always so worried I’m overdressed or I’m underdressed, and I’m, like, No, it doesn’t really matter,' she said.

Although initially unsure if she was ready to move from an apartment to a family sized adult home, the Anatomy hitmaker explained that she added touches of her own childhood, drawing inspiration from her own dreams when she was younger.

'It’s a full dream, honestly,' she says. 'I always think, like, "Oh my God, if I was 11 years old living in this house, I would have a cheetah closet."'

She also got her older sister's help. Kenzie shared that she and Maddie set up a shelf full of gifts and special moments to made it feel more like her birthplace of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

'The day I moved in, my sister and I decorated that shelf, and that’s kind of what I based the whole house on,' she said. 'A lot of it was gifted to me, things my sister gave to me for my birthday or little trinkets I’ve collected. That is my favorite thing in the whole house.'

As a youngster on the competitive dance show Dance Moms, Kenzie was frequently compared to her old sister, but she wants to be clear that the two are very different when it comes to dressing up their homes.

'I love hosting because I¿m like, I don¿t have to leave. I can just stay here. That¿s kind of where my mind is. If I¿m here, then I¿m good,' she added

Maddie 'is very perfectionist—if something is not right, she will be mad about it, the 20-year-old said. 'I’m kind of the opposite, where I don’t care if it looks insane… All of her stuff is super, super expensive, very picture-perfect. And, with mine, I mean, obviously I think my house is gorgeous, but I just love finding really weird pieces.'

As for what she plans to do now as a homeowner, the Bad 4 U singer shared that she is hoping to play hostess and having family and friends enjoy her new space.

'I love hosting because I’m like, I don’t have to leave. I can just stay here. That’s kind of where my mind is. If I’m here, then I’m good. I don’t really want to go anywhere else,' she said.

The singer added that she plans to have a full-scale kitchen renovation when she is not promoting her latest record, Biting My Tongue.

'I just know exactly what I want to do with my clothes and my music and my house. I feel like it¿s all a really good representation of the person I am today,' she said

She is also confident in her home décor skills, saying, 'I just know exactly what I want to do with my clothes and my music and my house. I feel like it’s all a really good representation of the person I am today. It’s taken a while to find her, but now she’s here.'

Last year, she uploaded a YouTube video documenting her moving process.

'Guys I'm so thrilled to share the exciting news about finally moving into my brand new home! I cant wait for you guys to see the whole house and come up with personal touches that me make it special,' she captioned the video. 'I know from the moment I set foot this house when i was house hunting that this was the one. It seems like you guys did too!'

She also thanked fans for 'all of the feedback and encouragement' and their 'continuous support.'

In the video, she said making the purchase was a 'really big deal' for her and felt like a 'pinch me moment' to be able to do at 18.

Mackenzie rose to fame as a child star on Lifetime's reality dance show Dance Moms back in 2011.
