Christina Applegate has reality TV 'on 24/7' at home to help get her through MS treatments: 'I love watching the imperfections of real people!'

Christina Applegate just revealed on James Corden's SiriusXM podcast This Life of Mine that she has found reality television 'very useful' for her daily routine ever since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021.

'Anyone who knows me well knows that it's on 24/7 in my room because I don't leave my room very often,' the 52-year-old Emmy winner said of her $950K Hollywood Hills home.

'I know that sounds really depressing, but it's kind of like I just need to sleep sometimes.'

As for her favorites, Christina seems to keep her TV locked on the cable network Bravo: 'Reality TV. Everything. Give me any of it. Give me a Vanderpump [Rules], give me a Below Deck, give me a housewife.'

But Applegate isn't above watching Gordon Ramsay scream at ineffective chefs in Fox's Kitchen Nightmares, which aired its eighth season last year.

'I'll watch like nine seasons of that in like two days,' the Los Angeles native told the 45-year-old Englishman.

'I love watching the imperfections of real people really like, wow. Those people exist. I love that. That's why I love reality TV, because they freak me out that they walk this earth acting like that.'

Back in 2022, Christina broke down in tears when The Kelly Clarkson Show surprised her with a message from Below Deck star Captain Lee Rosbach, who's suffered his own mobility issues stemming from back surgery.

'Christina, how you doing? Captain Lee here from Below Deck. I just want to say thank you for being such a big fan and I want to encourage you to stay strong,' the 74-year-old great grandfather said.

'And remember that a good sailor never learned a damn thing in calm seas, so I know you're going to navigate these waters just fine. And if you decide you want to set sail again, you just let me know, because we have a deck chair with your name written all over it. If you'd like to DM me sometime and just chat, I'm here. Take care, kiddo.'

At that, Applegate cried: 'Aw, I love my Lee. Oh my god, I have tears in my eyes, I'm not kidding. I literally have tears in my eyes, I love him so much.'

The Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead alum added: 'I have slipped into the DMs of certain crew members who are now my friends. I'm like an uber-weirdo fan.'

During the podcast, pre-taped on April 8, Christina also recalled the moments leading up to her discovering she had MS while on a Zoom call with her doctor on the set of Netflix's Dead to Me.

'He just looked at me and he goes, "I'm so sorry," and I was like, "What do you mean?" and he goes, "Here's a picture of your brain,"' Applegate said tearing up.

'Sorry. And there's like 30 lesions all over my brain. I went, "No, please don't tell me this. Please don't tell me this." I had to call production. I said, "You guys, it's f***ing MS." And they're like, "Okay, we're shutting down for the week."

'That was it, and then we were just trying to figure out how to film and stuff and we did. I mean, we finished it. It took us a long time, but we finished it. But yeah, I remember that moment like it was yesterday.'

The breast cancer survivor teamed up with Jamie-Lynn Sigler - who's had MS for 22 years - to co-produce and co-host a podcast called MeSsy, which launched on March 19.

Christina and the 43-year-old Sopranos alum since interviewed their celebrity pals Martin Short, Jimmy Kimmel, Jean Smart, Katie Couric, and Will Ferrell.

It's unclear whether Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter's potential animated spin-off Married... with Children is still happening after Applegate and the other three leads recorded voiceover for the pilot in 2022.

Christina confirmed to Vanity Fair last year: '[It was] one of the coolest things I've ever done. I can't really say much. But all I know is that all four of us are attached to it. It's not in our hands now, so we're just kind of waiting'
