Blake Lively purchased Britney Spears' Versace dress through vintage shop as price for the iconic outfit is revealed

Blake Lively went to a vintage shop to purchase the iconic Versace dress previously worn by Britney Spears.

The actress reportedly paid around $10K for the glamorous garment that she wore to give homage to the Princess of Pop at the premiere of her upcoming movie, It Ends With Us.

It was reported that Lively bought the dress from Tab Vintage, a shop in Los Angeles specializing in vintage clothing, and inquired about it after seeing a social media posting.

A source revealed to TMZ on Wednesday that the silver screen star was reportedly surprised to learn the price of her find — the dress that Spears famously modeled at the Versace fashion show in 2002 — and immediately snapped it up.

Insiders told the outlet that the Gossip Girl alum made the purchase six months ago and decided to wear it for her Tuesday movie premiere.

When Lively wore it for the New York City premiere of her upcoming romantic drama, which will hit theaters on August 9, many noticed that the length of the dress reached her ankles.

However, when Spears famously modeled the Versace vesture, it was a floor-sweeping length.

Lively reportedly made some minor alterations but did not change the overall length of dress.

Another insider close to the Toxic singer also told the outlet that she saw Lively's tribute and was very flattered.

Spears thought the actress looked 'adorable' and thought it was a 'cool' tribute.

The high compliment comes shortly after it was revealed that Spears had a heavy hand in her upcoming biopic and would have the final say on the casting.

As for whether Lively is being considered for the casting, sources close to the songstress told the outlet that everything is still in the early stages.

Insiders noted that no discussions have been held yet about casting for the biopic.

Lively captioned a snap of the singer in the vibrant Versace piece and wrote: 'Today's mood.'

'The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories,' she continued before addressing the pop star.

'Britney, us millennials all have a story of the moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work,' she wrote.

'Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. So excited for your biopic and all you have to come,' she concluded.
