Sir Rod Stewart, 79, is forced to axe TWO more shows amid struggle with second health issue - just days after cancelling historic 200th Las Vegas concert

Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel a further two shows after being struck down with another health battle.
In a statement shared to his Instagram on Friday night, the rocker, 79, informed his fans he would be missing a planned gig that night and another on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19.
The news comes days after Rod was forced to cancel his historic 200th Las Vegas show on Wednesday due to suffering from strep throat.
The Maggie May hitmaker was due to perform at Stateline in Nevada on Friday, followed by a gig at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California - both of which have now been postponed.
The statement confirmed that the concerts have been moved to later this month, giving Rod time to recover from his illness.

The full statement reads: 'We regret to announce that tonight's Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19.
'The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18 and his concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, NV concert will now be August 20. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows.'
Fans of the rocker were quick to take to the comment to react to the news, with many wishes the musician a speedy recovery.
However, some expressed their disappointment at the last minute cancellation, stating they'd already travelled to attend the gig.
The news comes after Rod was forced to cancel his 200th residency celebration show in Las Vegas due to strep throat, with the gig at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace axed just hours before.
Strep throat is a bacterial infection that can make your throat feel sore and scratchy.
Rod told his 1.4million Instagram followers: 'I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration.
'Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long.

However, fans will be delighted to know Rod has announced he would be returning to Sin City for a series of encore shows which will take place next spring.
Prior to revealing his illness, he wrote on social media: 'Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!

The London-born singer premiered his show, titled Rod Stewart: The Hits, at the classic venue in 2011.
Though Rod will be leaving Sin City in 2025, where he sold 90% capacity each night, he may be back on stage sooner rather than later.
Rod hinted that a short UK tour with Jools Holland is on the cards, to support their 2024 joint album Swing Fever.
It comes after Rod revealed he has 'no fear' about death ahead of his 80th birthday, adding he aims to stick around for another 15 years, but also acknowledging his 'days are numbered'.
Despite the rocker getting on in age, he insisted that he still has no desire to tone down his rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
Rod promised fans he will continue performing and partying in his 90s.

He told The Sun: 'I'm aware my days are numbered but I've got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.'
He admitted: 'I'm not like I was in the '70s and '80s and I can't stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that. Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
But Rod insisted: 'But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You're talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.'
Rod, who has had both prostate and thyroid cancer, said: 'I am more aware of my health now than before. You should be when you start getting on a bit. It's very important. I am a bit of a hypochondriac. I think men in particular should take advantage of all the wonderful medical science out there.'
Despite this, he revealed he doesn't take any medication at all apart from the odd anti-inflammatory if his knee is giving him trouble.

Rod said he works out three or four times a day and is kept on the straight and narrow by his personal trainer whom he has been working with for over three decades.
He is currently constructing a racing track at his Essex mansion to aid him on his mission to break the world record for the 100m sprint in his age group.

His eight children are also said to be heavily involved in the planning. Rod is father to Sarah Streeter, 61; Kimberly, 45, Sean, 44, and Ruby Stewart, 37, with his first wife; Renee, 32, and Liam Stewart, 30, with his second; and Alastair, 19, and Aiden Stewart, 13, with his third, Penny.
