NRL star Tom Burgess and wife Tahlia Giumelli welcome their third child - and reveal the little boy's surprisingly heavy weight at birth

Tom Burgess and his wife Tahlia Giumelli have welcomed their third child.

The model and the English rugby player shared the good news on Instagram this weekend, introducing their little boy and revealing his surprising weight at birth.

'Alfie Mark Burgess Born 8/8/24 at 4:04pm. Built like a Burgess weighing in at 4kgs and 54cms long,' Tahlia, 30, wrote alongside images of the tot.

She added: 'Our sweet little boy, the perfect addition to our family'.

Elsewhere, Tahlia explained Tom, 31, assisted in the birth before hitting the field to play footy with the Rabbitohs.

'Tom whipped on the gloves to help deliver our boy and then went from midwife assistant to football player and turned up in time to run out on the field and play with his team,' she wrote alongside a video of the newborn.

On a third post, Tahlia explained that Alfie is a 'family name' and added, 'He is already adored and spoilt by his two big sisters'.

'Brought into the world with the help of dad, our amazing obstetrician and midwives, we are so incredibly thankful to them for allowing Tom to be a part of this beautiful moment,' she said.

'I have no doubt when it happens it will be just as amazing. Really feel for all the brides who have had to do the same. But right now a I wedding didn't seem like a number one priority'.

The couple were again forced to postpone their nuptials and ditched their most recent set of wedding plans in December that year after Tom contracted Covid-19 during a holiday to Byron Bay.

They finally walked down the aisle in January, 2022.
