838,946. Textile drafting mechanisms. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO. Ltd. May 29, 1958 [July 30, 1957], No. 24121/57. Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXXIV] In a textile fibre drafting mechanism of the type comprising bottom rollers 1, 2, 3 which have necks 1 a , 2a, 3a supported by bearings 4, 5, 6 on a roller stand 7 and which co-operate with dual-boss rollers 8, 9, 10 centrally supported by a top arm, not shown, overhanging the drafting field, an inverted channel-shaped cover 11 is pivoted at 18 to. a removable bracket 14 fixed by a bolt 15 to the stand 7. The cover 11, which overhangs the stand bearings, carries lubricant absorbent pads 12, 13 which bear lightly upon, and lubricate, the necks of the bottom rollers 1, 2, 3. The pads 12, 13, joined by a bridging piece 22, are strengthened by rigid side plates 20, 21 which have notches 20a, 21a in their ends loosely engaging corresponding screws 23 in the sides of the cover. Supports 24 for clearers 27 are secured by bolts 25 to the top of the cover, the lower bolt 25 also serving to secure an L-shaped front closure plate 19. An elongated slot receives the other bolt 25, the exposed part of the slot being used for oiling the pads 11, 12 without lifting the cover.
