865,561. Drawing mechanisms for textile rovings. ESTIRAJES BALMES S. A. Oct. 13, 1959 [Oct. 14, 1958], No. 34633/59. Class 120(2). Drafting mechanism including pairs of rollers or belts is characterized by a fixed clearer, in the form of a plush-covered bar, arranged to contact one of the rollers or belts so that fibres carried by the roller or belt are retained by the clearer and accumulate on an edge thereof which is separated from the roving, the matted waste being continuously gathered by a revolving clearer to prevent mixing with the roving. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a metal plate 15 has curved and straight portions 16, 17 fitting over the necks of rollers 1 and 3 respectively and supports a fixed plush-covered bar 13 so that the bar is pressed against roller 1 and accumulates matted waste on its lower edge, the matted waste being continuously removed by a plush covered clearer roller 18 situated below the fixed clearer and frictionally driven by either roller 1 or 3.
