988, 728. Carding-engines. T. M. M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. Nov. 7, 1963 [Aug. 23, 1962], No. 32482/62. Heading D1N. Fibres are doffed in a carding machine by a doffer cylinder B arranged to provide a condensing action with a card cylinder A, doffer cylinder B being in its turn doffed with a condensing action by a doffing roller C that is followed by a single roller or a pair of rollers E, F which are not card covered. The doffed fibre web may be condensed into sliver form or may be retained in web form for delivery to the intake of a following carding machine.
