Abstract

384,822. Drawing-rollers of spinning. machines. WOOL INDUSTRIES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION, and BARKER, S. G., Torridon, Headingley Lane, Leeds. Jan. 2, 1932, No. 119. [Class 120 (ii).] To enable short wool combed and drawn on the French system, cotton, recovered fibres obtained by the re-combing of tops, pulling of rags, garnetting of waste or by any other process whereby fibres are obtained from waste or woven materials, or any fibres capable of being formed into a roving or sliver to be spun on a Bradford type of spinning-machine, a small upper roller 4 and a belt 7 and tension roller 8 are arranged, as shown in Fig. 1, or a small bottom roller 10 and belt 7 and tension roller are arranged, as shown in Fig. 2, the nip of the front rollers being set close to that of the front carrier rollers, whereby effective control of the short fibres is ensured. The belt 7, Fig. 2, may rub on the bottom front carrier and so prevent laps.
