Abstract

Fibres from a carding machine in which the main cylinder is driven at double or more than double the speeds conventionally used for any particular fibre are passed as an uncondensed web between ironing rollers and then drafted. Main cylinder and doffer speeds may be up to seven times those normally employed and the draft may lie between ten and forty per cent. Specification 697,106 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 841, 391.
