Abstract
1,250,622. Apron drafting device. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. 30 April, 1969 [13 May, 1968], No. 22615/68. Heading D1D. An apron drafting device has a bottom apron guide 22 mounted for rotation around a bottom roller 114 and is engaged by the top roller arm 19 when the latter is moved to an operative position to bring the top rollers to bear against the bottom rollers. The arrangement is such that the apron guide 22 is held in its operative position by the top roller arm 19 when the latter is in its operative position. When the top roller arm is raised to its inoperative position the guide 22 is freed and may rotate about the bottom roller 114 to facilitate fitting and replacement of the bottom apron. The guide 22 is formed by bar 23 supported on spaced brackets 24, 25 formed with bearing recesses in the underside thereof and extending rearwardly and upwardly from the recesses. The bars terminate in locating pins 26, 27 which engage with the top roller arm. The guide 22 can be provided with a leaf spring extending from the underside thereof to engage with and tension the apron. The apron may also be tensioned by device 30.
