Abstract

1,273,624. Strand forwarding rollers. LEESONA CORP. 24 April, 1969 [24 April, 1968], No. 21074/69. Heading B5B. [Also in Division D1] A strand forwarding device comprises a base 20, a movable body mounted on the base (pivoted at 18), a first roll 28 mounted on the movable body, a pinch roll 30 mounted for movement between a position in operative engagement with the first roll 28 and an inoperative position (as shown) released from engagement with the first roll, and operating means for moving the pinch roll 30 responsive to movement of the movable body. As shown, the pinch roll 30 is moved by the cam 62 (which is carried by the pinch roll support 46) engaging surface 60 as the movable body rotates anticlockwise. The pinch roll 30 is urged against the first roll 28 by spring 52. The movable body, and the rolls 28 and 30 which it carries, can be looked in the inoperative (idle) position or a threading up position (Fig. 6, not shown).
