The essay examines the last, large chapter of the anonymous fourteenth-century Florentine translation of the Legenda aurea (LAI CLXXVII) and studies its syntactic-pragmatic structure, according to the principles of textual linguistics. The observations on syntactic typologies, textuality, cohexives, connectives and deictics allow to propose some general reflections on the textual structure of the whole translation.

Manzoni Jurist and Impolitic. La storia della colonna infame in Mino Martinazzoli's Interpretation • The essay is dedicated to the pamphlet written by the politician and jurist Mino Martinazzoli (1931-2011). Based on the reworking of various speeches made during the bicentenary of Alessandro Manzoni's birth (1985), the text contains an original interpretation of the Storia della Colonna Infame. In it, Martinazzoli analyses Manzoni's work from the point of view of style and argument construction, and it demonstrates its proximity to a trial indictment. The essay contextualises the contribution in the cultural, ideological and political debate of the 1980s and examines Martinazzoli's interpretative thesis, focusing in particular on its ethical-political and stylistic-formal analysis.

// The essay concerns the multiform textual tradition of the "fier baiser" episode. By analysing the medieval Celtic, Romance and Germanic attestations, it reflects on continuation and rewriting of this literary motif, which has not developed any back-up illustrative tradition, in spite of its iconic potential.

This article introduces a new research about the language of the manuscript 55.k.5 of the Biblioteca dell’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei e Corsiniana in Rome, which preserves a Venetian-born prose version of Roman de Tristan en prose, known as Tristano Corsiniano. The here contained episode, which summarizes the event of the Tournament of Louveserp (Löseth §§ 361-381), has been collocated by the scholars in different linguistic contexts in Venetian surroundings: Paduan, ‘veneto comune’, ‘veneto di terraferma’ connected with Vicenza, Veronese. This essay, through the study and the collation with the Venetian historical dialectology’s newest acquisitions, intends to demonstrate a stratification of the copy materials: on a Veronese substratum, which is possibly imputable to the first translation into vernacular, a Venetian superstratum is grafted, which testifies the diffusion of this text in the lagoon town. The linguistic perusal is completed by a large reasoned glossary which records the analysis of the entry presences in the main texts which have recently been researched in the marked area, by supporting the stratigraphic evaluation of the manuscript language.

The essay reconstructs the status quaestionis of the studies on the vulgarization of the Roman de Tristan en prose, better known as Tristano Corsiniano (Rome, Biblioteca Corsiniana, ms. 55 k 5), a rather ignored text by the Italian arthurian audience, variously registered in the Venetian area (Padua, Vicenza, Verona, Venetian ground) by the previous studies. Analysing the codicological, iconographical and linguistic data, the study comes to the formulation of the hypothesis of a genesis of the manuscript in the Venetian area in the last quarter of the thirteenth century, through the mediation of a lost Veronese specimen. Moreover, the article presents a deep analysis of the decoration attached to the text, by comparing it with the one obtained in various manuscripts of the same age of the same indicated area in order to underline the presence of common traits to a kind of Venetian atelier, similar for the illustrative typology and for the pictorial praxis testified by the corsinian manuscript.

EnglishFour lexicographical entries are dedicated to the investigation of the entries arcolino, aster, nigromancia and al delongo. The results of the proposed linguistic analysis have an immediate effect on the formulation of some entries of the Tesoro della Lingua Italiana delle Origini (TLIO) or on the definition of some forms listed as headwords in the Corpus OVI of ancient Italian, on which the TLIO is redacted.
