The paper follows the evolution of character of Dinadan (that has been first introduced by the Prose Roman de Tristan) from the French versions of the text to the Italian ones. The study of two episodes (Löseth § 361 e § 363) highlights the continuing features of the character and the originality of the chivalric ideal represented by Dinadan.
