Description
本発明の一態様に係る発光素子は、少なくとも一のEL層と、上記EL層を間に挟む一対の電極とを有する。そして、EL層は、正孔輸送性の高い有機化合物及び電子受容体を有し、なおかつ電荷移動相互作用が生じにくい複合材料を含む層を有する。
本実施の形態では、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物と電子受容体とを含む複合材料について、ESR法を用いて評価した結果について説明する。
本実施の形態では、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物及び電子受容体を有し、なおかつ電荷移動相互作用が生じにくい複合材料を含む層を、陰極102に接するように、EL層103に設けた場合について説明する。
本発明の一態様に係る発光素子は、少なくとも一の電荷発生層と、上記電荷発生層を間に挟むように積層された複数のEL層と、上記電荷発生層及び複数のEL層を間に挟む一対の電極とを有する。図5に、本発明の一態様に係る発光素子の構造を一例として示す。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様に係る発光装置の一例である、パッシブマトリクス型の発光装置について説明する。

図9は、本発明の一態様に係る発光装置の斜視図の一例である。図9に示す発光装置は、表示部1601と、回路基板1602と、接続部1603とを有している。
本発明の一態様に係る発光装置は、発光素子に供給する電流値を低く抑えても、高い輝度を得ることができるため、発光装置を用いた電子機器の消費電力を抑えることができる。また、発光素子の長寿命化に有利であるため、発光装置を用いた電子機器の信頼性を高めることができる。本発明の一態様に係る発光装置を用いた電子機器の具体例を、図10に示す。

Claims (7)
- 少なくとも一のEL層と、前記EL層を間に挟む陽極及び陰極とを有し、
前記EL層が有する層の少なくとも1つは、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物(ただし、下記式で表される化合物は除く)と電子受容体とを有する複合材料を含み、
前記複合材料は、ESR法により測定されるスピン濃度が1×1019spins/cm3以下である発光素子。
- 少なくとも一の電荷発生層と、前記少なくとも一の電荷発生層を間に挟むように積層された複数のEL層と、前記電荷発生層及び前記複数のEL層を間に挟む陽極及び陰極とを有し、
前記電荷発生層は、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物(ただし、下記式で表される化合物は除く)と電子受容体とを有する複合材料を含み、
前記複合材料は、ESR法により測定されるスピン濃度が1×1019spins/cm3以下である発光素子。
- 少なくとも一のEL層と、前記EL層を間に挟む陽極及び陰極とを有し、
前記EL層が有する層の少なくとも1つは、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物(ただし、下記式で表される化合物は除く)と電子受容体とを有する複合材料を含み、
前記複合材料は、前記有機化合物に対する前記電子受容体のモル比が1以上の場合において、ESR法により測定されるスピン濃度が3×10 19 spins/cm 3 以下である発光素子。
- 少なくとも一の電荷発生層と、前記少なくとも一の電荷発生層を間に挟むように積層された複数のEL層と、前記電荷発生層及び前記複数のEL層を間に挟む陽極及び陰極とを有し、
前記電荷発生層は、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物(ただし、下記式で表される化合物は除く)と電子受容体とを有する複合材料を含み、
前記複合材料は、前記有機化合物に対する前記電子受容体のモル比が1以上の場合において、ESR法により測定されるスピン濃度が3×10 19 spins/cm 3 以下である発光素子。
- 少なくとも一のEL層と、前記EL層を間に挟む陽極及び陰極とを有し、

前記電荷発生層は、正孔輸送性が高い有機化合物(ただし、下記式で表される化合物は除く)と電子受容体とを有する複合材料を含み、
前記複合材料は、前記有機化合物に対する前記電子受容体のモル比が2以上の場合において、ESR法により測定されるスピン濃度が5×10 19 spins/cm 3 以下である発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一に記載の発光素子を有する発光装置。
