[Class 123 (ii)] A horizontal multitubular steam or hot water boiler A has a channel 6 under the shell extending between a chamber 1 at the back of the brickwork setting B and the boiler front, the furnace gases issuing from the flue D being delivered to front smoke boxes 7 and thence through smoke tubes 8 to chimney flues 9. Preferably, the tubes 8 are arranged as described in Specification 429,383, not higher than the crown of the furnace flue.
