Abstract

495,126. Furnace arches. INTERNATIONAL COMBUSTION, Ltd., WRAY, J. W., and MAYER, J. June 30, 1937, No. 18175. [Class 51 (i)] In a steam boiler furnace in which the combustion chamber is lined with water tubes the header 3 supported by the front wall tubes 5 and the downcomers 7 has secured thereto by bolts 4 a number of brackets 2 provided with ribs 2a which engage with recesses in the blocks 1a forming the straight portion of the furnace arch which is completed by blocks 1c and 1b. Secondary air is supplied to the combustion chamber from a conduit 8 and nozzles 10 supported by the tubes 5.
