Abstract
429,383. Multitubular boilers. DANKS (NETHERTON), Ltd., H. & T., and DANKS, J. A., Halesowen Road, Netherton, Dudley, Worcestershire. Feb. 15, 1934, No. 5074. [Class 123 (ii)] In a double-pass return tube boiler, the gases return to the front of the boiler from the combustion chamber 5 through groups of smoke tubes 1 which do not extend above the crown of the furnace flue D. The gases then flow to the rear outlet flue 7, through smoke tubes 2 extending through the bottom of the water space. Horizontal brick baffles 3, 4 direct the gases into the flues 1 and divide the chamber 5 from the outlet flue.
