Abstract
538,776. Boiler furnaces. WALKER, A. March 16, 1940, No. 4943. [Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XIII]. A multi-tubular boiler with lower and upper rests of smoke tubes 17, 16 is mounted on a fire-brick furnace the rear end of which constitutes a combustion chamber 18 from which the furnace gases pass through the lower set of smoke tubes to a smoke box and back through the upper set of smoke tubes to an uptake 20. The furnace comprises a number of furnace chambers with arched roofs and the walls of the chambers are cooled by air or water tubes 7 connected to bottom headers 4.
