Abstract
486,944. Vapour burners; valves. GODESIA-WERK GES. Sept. 9, 1936, No. 24626. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1935. Addition to 480,362. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In the liquid-heater described in the parent Specification the fuel valve spindle 3 is formed with a square end slidable in the threaded spindle 7 of the water valve 8 and connected to it by a pin-and-slot connection. A spring 5 arranged between a fixed collar 4 and slidable collar 6 on the spindle 3 presses the collar 6 into engagement with the spindle 7. When the spindle 7 is turned the water valve 8 is opened and the fuel valve turns on its seating without opening until the pin reaches the end of its slot. On the reverse movement of the spindle 7 the fuel valve closes before the water valve. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the provision in the spirit burner tray q for preheating the vaporizer of the main burner of an open-ended pipe 9 conducting vapour to an aperture 10 where it burns to preheat the casing 1 of the fuel discharge nozzle. The pipe 9 may be provided with vents to prevent suction of the spirit from the tray. It also states that the fuel supply pipe to the vaporizer may be of large cross section and be' extended beyond the vaporizer or be formed with a chamber containing a large quantity of fuel in front of the vaporizer to absorb superfluous heat. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
