Abstract
180,929. Barnett, G. F. July 15, 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Valves actuated indirectly or involuntarily. -An horizontal gas-ring burner a is provided with a lever f pivoted to one face of the top handle c which may be turned so as to be held open by an article which is being heated, and released to cut off the gas when the article is removed. The top b is held in the closed position by a spring d attached to one edge of the handle c and to the support e. A bypass i is connected behind the gas tap. When the gas is turned on, the lever f is swung over so that its free end is retained under the bottom of the article supported on the burner; when the article is removed, the top is automatically closed by the spring d.
