Interlocking.-In a water heater having independent main and pilot burners disposed in fixed relationship, the taps c, f of these burners are arranged with their handles d, g moving in parallel planes, so that when the two gas taps are closed the handle g of the pilot burner tap abuts against a stop d' on the handle d of the main burner tap and prevents the opening of latter tap until the pilot tap has been turned open. Moreover, the handle i of the water tap h is also disposed across the path of the handle of the main gas tap c in such a way that the opening of the main gas tap opens also the water tap; for this purpose a projection j on the handle d of the main gas tap abuts on the water tap handle i when these taps are in their closed positions.
