Abstract
480,362. Vapour burners. GODESIAWERK GES. Aug. 24, 1936, No. 23258. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1935. [Class 75 (i)] A heater for water or other liquid is fitted with a vapour burner comprising a vaporizer h connected by a pipe r to a nozzle w discharging into a mixing tube x which is bent through 180 and is connected to parallel slotted burner tubes o of flattened section. Fuel is fed by gravity to the vaporizer through a pipe e from a tank a which is supported on a forked bracket z<1> by a bolt z<2>. The bolt z<2> also carries a bracket z supporting the heater casing. A needle valve s controlling the nozzle w can only be opened when the valve v<1> controlling the water supply to the heatexchanger is open and the valve v<1> cannot be shut when the valve s is open owing to the engagement of the hand wheel operating the valve s with a recess in the hand wheel operating the valve v<1>. The vaporizer preferably consists of concentric tubes forming an annular chamber containing a spiral i and is heated initially by a spirit burner tray q having a forked end embracing the. pipe r. The mixing tube x is of progressively increasing cross-section which changes from circular to rectangular form. The burner is removably secured by screws to a bracket p attached to a support p<1>. The vaporizer is secured to brackets g, g<1> attached to the bracket p.
