Abstract

500,584. Liquid - fuel - burning apparatus. STEPAN, K., and FURTH, W. Aug. 13, 1937, No. 22314. [Class 75 (i)] The water or other fluid flowing to the coils 1, 3 and gilled tube 2 of a fluid heater operates a motor 13 driving a pump 12 which forces air to finely perforated nozzles 15 arranged in a fuel tank 8. The air charged with fuel vapour issues from the fuel tank through nozzles 17 and mixes with the fuel rising through pipes 10 to form a combustible mixture at burners 7 heating the coils 1, 3 and tube 2. The hot water discharge pipe 16 may be led through the fuel tank and is fitted with a discharge cock 6. A thermostat controlled by the water temperature may switch in an electric motor to assist the motor 13 if the water pressure is insufficient.
