Claims (2)
- 表示ラインを構成する複数の行電極対を形成すると共に前記行電極対を被覆する誘電体層を形成しかつ前記誘電体層の表面に酸化マグネシウム層を形成した前面透明基板と、前記複数の行電極対に対して交差しその交差する方向に延びて行電極対との各交差部分に放電空間を有する表示セルを各々形成する複数の列電極を形成した背面基板とを有するプラズマディスプレイパネルを備えたプラズマディスプレイ装置であって、
前記行電極対に時間経過に伴い緩やかに電圧値が変化する区間を有するリセットパルスを印加することにより全ての前記表示セルの前記放電空間内においてリセット放電を生起させて全ての前記表示セルを初期化するリセット工程と、前記行電極対各々の一方の行電極に順次走査パルスを印加すると共に入力映像信号に対応したデータパルスを前記列電極各々に印加することにより前記表示セル各々の前記放電空間内において選択的に選択放電を生起させて前記表示セル各々を点灯セル状態又は消灯セル状態に設定するアドレス工程と、前記行電極対にサスティンパルスを印加することにより前記点灯セル状態に設定された前記表示セルの前記放電空間内においてサスティン放電を生起させるサスティン工程とを実行する駆動部を備え、
前記プラズマディスプレイパネルにおける前記酸化マグネシウム層は、電子線によって励起されて波長域200〜300nm内にピークを有するカソードルミネッセンス発光を行う酸化マグネシウム結晶体粉末を前記誘電体層表面、または前記誘電体層表面に形成した薄膜酸化マグネシウム層上に付着させて形成したものであることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記酸化マグネシウム結晶体粉末は、粒径が2000オングストローム以上の酸化マグネシウム結晶体粉末を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
