Claims (3)
- 複数の行電極対と、前記行電極対の各々に交差して配列され各交差部にて表示セルを形成する複数の列電極と、前記表示セル各々内には電子線によって励起されて波長域200〜300nm内にピークを有するカソードルミネッセンス発光を行う酸化マグネシウム単結晶体を含む酸化マグネシウム層と、が設けられているプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して入力映像信号の1フィールドの表示期間をアドレス期間とサスティン期間とからなる複数のサブフィールドで構成して画像表示を行うプラズマディスプレイ装置であって、
前記アドレス期間において、前記映像信号に基づく画素データに応じて前記表示セル各々に選択的にアドレス放電を生起せしめるアドレス手段と、
前記サスティン期間において、前記複数のサブフィールド各々で定められた回数だけ前記行電極対を構成する行電極間に、立ち上がり期間を有するサスティンパルスを印加するサスティン手段と、を備え、
前記サスティン手段は、前記サスティンパルスの立ち上がり期間の長さを累積発光時間又は累積使用時間が長くなるほど短く、又は前記サスティンパルスの立ち上がり期間の長さを前記プラズマディスプレイパネルの温度が所定温度より低い時に比べて前記所定温度より高い時には長くすることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記行電極対を構成する行電極各々は、行方向に延びる本体部と、放電ギャップを介して互いに対向するように本体部から列方向に突出する突出部を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記プラズマディスプレイパネルは、放電空間内にキセノンガスを10体積%以上含む放電ガスが封入されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
