714,438. Knitting-machines. TRENT ENGINEERING. CO., Ltd., WIGFIELD, S., and CUCKSON, H. W. Jan. 22, 1953 [Nov. 2, 1951], No. 25625/51. Class 74 (2) A circular knitting-machine for producing hose or half hose has auxiliary draw-off mechanism comprising one or more hook members A mounted on a slide B movable up and down a pillar C and adapted to be raised at the commencement of a pouch so as to project the members A up the inside of the cylinder but on the outside of the fabric so as to engage the pouch fabric and draw it downwards when the slide is released. The slide is raised by cam mechanism M and when released falls under its own weight to exert the pull on the fabric. If the hook members fail to engage the fabric the arm raising the slide strikes a spring which and stops the machine. The fabric is disconthrough a connecting lever disconnects the clutch nected from the hook members by the action of the usual draw-off mechanism on the fabric.
