877,181. Knitting-machines. WHITFIELD, F. L. Feb. 18, 1960 [Feb. 24, 1959], No. 6346/59. Class 74 (2). A draw-down tube 1 of a circular knitting- machine can be swung between the full line position in which its upper end is in communication with the needle cylinder and its lower end in communication with a suction tube 25, and the chain line position in which its upper end is aligned with a mouth in a receiver 29 for the stocking and its lower end receives an air blast from a tube 26. The tube 1 is swung from the first to the second position by a cam on the control drum, acting through a Bowden cable 9, and is returned by a spring S. Specification 811,636 is referred to.
