Abstract
432,009. Paper-pulp beating-engines. VOITH, W., VOITH, H., and VOITH, H., (trading as VOITH, J. M., [Firm of]), Heidenheim-on-Brenz, Wurtemberg, Germany. Jan. 19, 1935, Nos. 1880 and 1881. Convention dates, Jan. 19, 1934 and March 10, 1934. [Class 96] In paper - pulp beating- engines wherein the pulp enters the grinding zone as a narrow stream at one end of the roll, a compartment E<1>, Fig. 2, extends on the far side of a partition C, Figs. 1 and 2, adjacent the roll A and is bounded at the inlet end by an oblique wall e<2> which deflects the pulp stream and displaces it axially of the roll, through a distance about equal to to the breadth of the stream which thus flows about the bed-plate B and partition C whilst progressively approaching the outlet F. The pulp may be over-flung, in which case the pulp stream gyrates about the roll, part of which is covered by a partition which may be adjustable to compensate for wear of the roll. At the exit end of the compartment E<1> is a wall e<3> substantially parallel to the wall e<2> and which may be adjustable axially of the roll to control the width of the stream of pulp leaving the beater.
