Abstract
422,307. Paper-pulp beaters. SCHMIDT, E., Dolni Polubny, Czecho-Slovakia. Feb. 12, 1934, No. 4664. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1933. [Class 96] In a beating-engine for half-stuff, waste paper &c., pulp is drawn from the trough &c. and forced by a pump through spaces between the bed-plate bars 4 and against the beater roll. The bars 2 of the roll 1 have teeth extending between similar teeth on the bed-plate bars 4 the effective grinding surface of the bars being thus increased. The wood spacers 10 are partly removed to provide the passage-way for the pulp, the flow of which prevents clogging and forces air from the cells 6, 7 between the bars. The beater may be run at high speed, and may render Jordaning unnecessary.
