Abstract
208,042. Happer, J. R., Russell, D., and Law, J. D. Jan. 24, 1923. Pulping-engines.-The beater bars are spaced apart and the material to be pulped is fed by a pump 4 through spaces 6 between the fixed bars 5 to the roll 1, passing between the bars 2 of the roll into the interior of the roll, and then by gravity and centrifugal force out of the roll between the bars 2 to be worked beween the bars 2 and lower fixed bars 5a similarly spaced apart. The material passes out through spaces 6a to the trough 3. The bars 5<a> may be omitted if desired; also, the material may be fed upwards to the roll through the spaces 6<a>, and from the roll to the trough 3 through the spaces 6.
