Claims (82)

- 제1항에 있어서,저장된 명령어들을 더 포함하고,상기 저장된 명령어들은, 프로세서에 의해 실행될 때,상기 제1 입력 장치 상의 제3 압력을 감지하는 단계 - 상기 제3 압력은 상기 제2 압력보다 큼 - ; 및상기 제1 입력 장치에 제3 촉각을 제공하는 단계를 상기 프로세서가 수행하도록 하는 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.

- 제33항에 있어서,상기 저장된 명령어들은, 프로세서에 의해 실행될 때,상기 터치패드 상의 제3 압력을 감지하는 단계;상기 제3 압력이 모호한 입력을 포함하는지를 판정하는 단계;상기 제3 압력이 상기 모호한 입력을 포함한다고 판정하면, 제3 촉각을 상기 터치패드에 제공하는 단계를 상기 프로세서가 수행하도록 하는 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 저장된 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체에 있어서,상기 저장된 명령어들은, 프로세서에 의해 실행될 때,기능 요청을 포함하는 제1 입력 장치 상의 제1 압력을 감지하는 단계;상기 기능이 가용하지 않는지를 판정하는 단계; 및상기 기능이 가용하지 않다고 판정하면, 제1 촉각을 상기 제1 입력 장치에 제공하는 단계를 상기 프로세서가 수행하도록 하는 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제38항에 있어서,상기 저장된 명령어들은, 프로세서에 의해 실행될 때,상기 기능이 가용한지를 판정하는 단계; 및상기 기능이 가용하다고 판정하면, 제2 촉각을 상기 제1 입력 장치에 제공하는 단계 - 상기 제2 촉각은 상기 제1 촉각과 다름 - ; 및를 상기 프로세서가 수행하도록 하는 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제39항에 있어서,상기 제2 촉각은 또한 상기 제1 촉각적 피드백(haptic feedback)과 다른 주파수를 갖는 판독가능한 매체.
- 저장된 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체에 있어서,상기 저장된 명령어들은, 프로세서에 의해 실행될 때,제1 입력 장치 상의 제1 압력을 감지하는 단계;상기 제1 압력이 모호한 입력을 포함하는지를 판정하는 단계; 및상기 제1 압력이 상기 모호한 입력을 포함한다고 판정하면, 제1 촉각을 상기 제1 입력 장치에 제공하는 단계를 상기 프로세서가 수행하도록 하는 명령어들을 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제41항에 있어서,상기 제1 압력이 모호한 입력을 포함한다고 판정하는 상기 단계는 제2 입력 장치 상의 제2 압력을 감지하는 단계를 더 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제42항에 있어서,상기 제1 압력이 모호한 입력을 포함한다고 판정하는 상기 단계는 상기 제2입력 장치 상의 상기 제2 압력과 거의 동시에 상기 제1 입력 장치 상의 상기 제1 압력을 감지하는 단계를 더 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 입력 장치 상의 상기 제1 압력을 판정하는 상기 단계는 제1 입력 신호를 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 입력 장치에 상기 제1 촉각을 제공하는 단계는 제1 제어기 출력 신호를 상기 제1 입력 장치와 통신하는 액츄에이터(actuator)에 송신하는 단계를 포함하는 판독가능한 매체.
- 압력 판정 수단; 및상기 압력 판정 수단과 통신하고 상기 압력 판정 수단으로부터 나오는 적어도 세개의 대응하는 압력 입력 신호에 응답하여 적어도 세개의 별개의 촉각을 형성할 수 있는 액츄에이터를 포함하는 입력 장치.
- 제46항에 있어서,상기 적어도 세개의 대응하는 압력 입력 신호 중 하나는 휴식 상태(reststate)를 나타내는 입력 장치.
- 제46항에 있어서,상기 압력 판정 수단 및 상기 액츄에이터와 통신하는 제어기를 더 포함하고,상기 제어기는 상기 액츄에이터가 상기 압력 판정 수단으로부터 나오는 적어도 세개의 대응하는 입력 신호에 응답하여 적어도 세개의 별개의 촉각을 형성하도록 구성되는 입력 장치.
- 제48항에 있어서,상기 제어기와 통신하는 제2 액츄에이터를 더 포함하는 입력 장치.
- 제46항에 있어서,상기 입력 장치는, 아날로그 스위치, 힘 감지 저항기, 센서 기반 스트레인 게이지, 용량성 터치 스위치, 및 터치패드 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 입력 장치.
- 제46항에 있어서,제2 압력 판정 수단을 더 포함하는 입력 장치.
- 제51항에 있어서,상기 제2 압력 판정 수단은 상기 제1 액츄에이터와 통신하는 입력 장치.

- 제61항에 있어서,상기 압력 분석기는 적어도 일부는 상기 소프트키 수신 접촉 영역의 양에 기초하여 상기 적어도 하나의 소프트키에 가해진 압력을 계산하도록 구성되는 입력 장치.
- 제46항의 입력 장치를 포함하는 이동 전화.
- 제46항에 있어서,상기 제1 액츄에이터는 기능 실패(function failure)시 별개의 촉각을 생성하도록 구성되는 입력 장치.
- 제64항에 있어서,상기 기능 실패는 기능 무효(function unavailability)를 나타내는 입력 장치.
- 제1 입력 신호에 대응하는 제1 위치; 및제2 입력 신호에 대응하는 제2 위치를 포함하는 적어도 하나의 입력 장치- 상기 입력 장치는 상기 입력 장치에 충분한 양의 압력이 가해지면 상기 제1 위치에서 상기 제2 위치로 이동가능함 - ;상기 입력 장치와 통신하여 상기 입력 장치에 촉각을 출력하는 적어도 하나의 액츄에이터; 및상기 입력 장치와 통신하여 상기 제1 입력 신호 및 상기 제2 입력 신호를 감지하고, 상기 액츄에이터와 통신하여 상기 액츄에이터가 상기 제1 입력 신호의 감지에 응답하여 제1 촉각을 생성하고 상기 제2 입력 신호의 감지에 응답하여 제2 촉각을 생성하도록 하는 적어도 하나의 제어기를 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 입력 장치는, 아날로그 스위치, 힘 감지 저항, 센서 기반 스트레인 게이지, 용량성 터치 스위치, 및 터치패드 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 적어도 하나의 입력 장치는 복수의 입력 장치를 포함하고, 상기 적어도 하나의 액츄에이터는 복수의 액츄에이터를 포함하고, 각 액츄에이터는 별개의 입력 장치에 결합되는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 액츄에이터는, 압전 액츄에이터, 음성 코일, 가동 자석형 액츄에이터, 및 모터에 결합된 플렉셔 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 입력 장치는 압력 감지 터치패드를 포함하고, 상기 장치는,컴퓨터 소프트웨어로 생성된 그래픽을 디스플레이할 수 있는 디스플레이 패널, 그로부터 나오는 상기 촉각들을 수신하기 위하여 상기 압력 감지 터치패드와통신하는 디스플레이 패널; 및 상기 디스플레이 패널에 설치된 적어도 하나의 소프트웨어로 생성된 버튼을 더 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 터치패드는 상기 별개의 압력 양을 측정하기 위한 압력 계산기를 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,상기 버튼에 대응하는 상기 디스플레이 패널의 위치에 압력을 가함으로써 상기 버튼들 중 하나를 선택하는 오브젝트; 및상기 디스플레이 패널과 접촉하고 있는 상기 오브젝트의 영역의 양에 기초하여 상기 별개의 압력 양을 계산하는 압력 계산기를 더 포함하는 장치.
- 제66항에 있어서,이동 전화, 개인용 컴퓨터, 및 휴대용 컴퓨팅 장치 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 장치.
- 복수의 입력 신호를 전자 장치에 통신시키는 복수의 입력 장치 - 각 입력 장치는 상기 입력 신호들 중 하나에 대응하고 각 입력 장치는 복수의 위치를 가짐 -;상기 복수의 입력 장치와 통신하여 상기 입력 장치들 모두에 별개의 복수의 촉각을 출력하는 적어도 하나의 액츄에이터; 및상기 입력 장치들과 통신하여 상기 입력 신호들을 수신하고 각 입력 장치의 위치를 감지하고 상기 액츄에이터와 통신하여 상기 수신된 입력 신호들에 대응하는 촉각들을 생성하는 적어도 하나의 제어기를 포함하는 장치.
- 제74항에 있어서,상기 액츄에이터는 상기 수신된 입력 신호와 관련된 상기 입력 장치의 상기 감지된 위치에 따라 생성된 촉각의 크기를 변화시킬 수 있는 장치.
- 제74항에 있어서,상기 액츄에이터는 상기 수신된 입력 신호 및 상기 관련된 입력 장치의 상기 감지된 위치 모두에 대응하는 별개의 촉각을 생성할 수 있는 장치.
- 제74항에 있어서,각 입력 장치는 상기 장치의 적어도 하나의 기능의 선택과 관련되어 있고, 상기 액츄에이터는 상기 기능 및 상기 기능의 실패 통지와 관련된 입력 신호를 수신하면 기능 실패 통지 촉각을 더 생성하는 장치.
- 제74항의 장치를 포함하는 이동 전화.
- 제78항에 있어서,복수의 입력 장치를 포함하는 키패드를 포함하는 이동 전화.
- 제78항에 있어서,상기 적어도 하나의 액츄에이터는 복수의 액츄에이터를 포함하고, 각 액츄에이터는 별개의 입력 장치에 결합된 이동 전화.
- 제78항에 있어서,소정의 이동 전화 기능을 활성화시키기 위하여 기능 입력 신호들과 관련된 선택 키들을 포함하고, 상기 액츄에이터는 상기 관련된 기능 입력 신호를 수신하면 각 이동 전화 기능과 관련된 상기 촉각을 생성하는 이동 전화.
- 제81항에 있어서,상기 액츄에이터는 기능 입력 신호 및 상기 기능의 실패 통지를 수신하면 기능 실패 통지 촉각을 생성하는 이동 전화.
