Abstract
Description
이동국은 재위치하기 위해서 이용가능한 외부의 정보나 이전에 저장된 정보를 이용할 수 있다. 대안으로, WLAN이 이동국 사이의 ad hoc P2P 통신과 핫 스팟을 통한 네트워크 액세스를 위하여 구성되면, 핫 스팟 위치 요청은 WLAN에 간접적으로 이루어질 수 있다. 예를 들면, 이동국(402)은 핫 스팟 위치 정보의 요청을 핫 스팟 영역(403)에 위치된 이동국(404)으로 전송할 수 있으며, 이것은 차례로 그 요청을 WLAN(405)으로 중계하고, 차례로 재위치 정보를 이동국(505)을 통해 이동국(402)으로 송신한다.
바람직하게, 핫 스팟 서비스 영역 정보는 WLAN(405)의 데이터베이스 내에 저장되어, 규칙적으로 갱신된다. 동적 QoS 정보는 트래픽 및 다른 파라메터, 특히 무선 간섭과 관련된 인자를 토대로 핫 스팟의 레이팅을 유지하는데 이용될 수 있다. 서비스 영역 정보는 네트워크의 안테나(407) 방사 패턴을 이용하여 계산할 수 있게 유도되고, 이력 이동국 신호 품질 피드백 정보를 이용하여 시간의 경과에 따라 맵핑될 수 있다.
빔 형성을 이용할 수 있고, 일부의 예에서는 이동국 위치를 토대로 빔이 지향하는 통상적인 빔 형성 시스템과 다르게 핫 스팟 영역을 정의하는데 바람직하게 이용되더라도, 본 발명의 무선 통신 시스템은 일반적으로 이동국에 요청하여, 형성된 빔이 지향되는 핫 스팟 영역으로 이동국을 재위치시킨다. 그 정의된 핫 스팟 영역을 서비스하는데 빔 형성이 이용되는 경우, 그 빔은 핫 스팟 영역 내의 실제의 트래픽을 설명하기 위하여 조정될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 기지국(406)으로부터 안테나 (407)를 통해 형성된 빔은 특정 시점에서 핫 스팟 영역(401, 403)의 전체 영역을 실제로 커버하지 않고, 오히려, 그 핫 스팟 영역에 서비스를 제공할 때 보다 최적의 처리량을 제공하기 위하여 조정된다. 잠재적으로, 도 3에 도시된 극히 제한된 예를 통하여, 빔은 핫 스팟 영역(403)의 일부분만을 커버하기 위하여 서비스 이동국(404)으로 지향될 수 있으며, 비점유 핫 스팟 영역(401)의 커버리지 없이 서비스 이동국(404)으로 지향될 수 있다. 그러나, 이러한 경우에, WLAN은 바람직하게는 그 전체적으로 핫 스팟 영역을 모니터링하는 몇몇 형태로 구성되며, 그 결과, 적합한 빔은 이동국이 진입하거나, 핫 스팟 영역 내에서 동작할 때 제공된다.
Claims (23)
- 우선 통신(preferred communication) 이용을 위한 지리적 범위를 갖는 무선 네트워크 내에서 무선 이동국의 통신을 위한 방법으로서,이동국의 추정된 지리적 위치를 결정하는 단계와,상기 결정된 이동국의 추정된 위치에 대하여 적어도 하나의 우선 통신 영역- 상기 우선 통신 영역은 상기 결정된 이동국의 추정 위치를 포함하지 않음-의 상대 위치 데이터를 상기 이동국에 제공하는 단계;상기 결정된 이동국의 추정 위치로부터 상기 적어도 하나의 우선 통신 영역으로의 이동을 보조하기 위하여 상기 적어도 하나의 우선 통신 영역의 상대적 위치 데이터를 디스플레이하는 단계;미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역 위치의 요청을 상기 이동국의 송신에 의해 시작하는 단계; 및상기 요청을 네트워크 기지국에 의해 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 것인 방법.

- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이동국에는 GPS가 장착되고, 상기 이동국의 추정 위치는 상기 이동국의 GPS를 이용하여 결정되며, 상기 이동국의 송신 요청은 현재 이동국의 추정된 위치 데이터를 포함하고, 상기 네트워크 기지국은 상기 현재 이동국의 추정 위치 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 상대 위치 데이터를 상기 이동국으로 송신하는 것인 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크 기지국에 의해 상기 이동국로 송신되는 상대 위치 데이터는 상기 현재 이동국의 추정 위치 데이터 및 우선 통신 영역을 이용하기 위한 동적 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이동국의 송신 요청의 물리적인 특성과 관련된 데이터를 분석하는 무선 네트워크에 의해 현재의 이동국의 추정된 위치가 결정되고, 상기 네트워크 기지국은 상기 현재 이동국의 추정된 위치 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 상대 위치 데이터를 상기 이동국으로 송신하는 것인 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크 기지국에 의해 상기 이동국으로 송신되는 상대 위치 데이터는 상기 현재 이동국의 추정 위치 데이터 및 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역을 이용하는 동적 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이동국에는 GPS가 장착되고, 상기 이동국의 추정 위치는 상기 이동국의 GPS를 이용하여 결정되며, 상기 네트워크 기지국은 상기 기지국에 의해 서비스되는 모든 네트워크의 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역의 지리적 위치 데이터를 상기 이동국로 송신하고, 상기 이동국에 의해 상대 위치 데이터가 결정되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크는 네트워크 기지국과 직접 이동국 무선 통신을 허용하고, 또한 이동국 사이의 P2P(peer-to-peer) 무선 통신을 허용하며, 상기 이동국에 의해 시작되어 상기 네트워크 기지국에 의해 수신되는 요청은 상기 기지국에 의해 서비스되는 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 위치된 다른 이동국을 통하여 중계되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크는 상기 결정된 이동국의 추정 위치를 모니터링하고, 네트워크 사용의 동적 데이터 및 현재 이동국의 추정 위치 데이터를 토대로, 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 이동국으로 상대 위치 데이터가 주기적으로 송신되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이동국에는 GPS가 장착되고, 상기 이동국의 추정된 위치는 상기 이동국의 GPS를 이용하여 결정되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 상대 위치 데이터는, 우선 통신 영역의 등급을 매긴 선호 순위가 결정되도록, 네트워크 이용 데이터의 동적 데이터 및 상기 결정된 이동국의 추정 위치 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되며, 적어도 하나의 최적의 우선 통신 영역의 선호 순위의 상대 위치 데이터는 네트워크 기지국에 의해 이동국로 전송되는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 지리적 좌표들의 각 집합에 의해 우선 통신 영역을 정의하는 단계와,상기 좌표 집합을 네트워크 데이터베이스에 저장하는 단계와,네트워크 기지국으로부터 하나 이상의 데이터 집합을 선택적으로 송신하여 상대 위치 데이터를 상기 이동국에 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이동국에는 맵 디스플레이가 장착되고,상기 방법은,상기 추정된 이동국 위치와 관련있는 우선 통신 영역을 디스플레이하기 위하여 상대 위치 데이터를 이용하고, 상기 상대 위치 데이터를 토대로 우선 통신 영역에 상기 이동국을 이동시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 것인 방법.
- 우선 통신(preferred comminication) 이용을 위하여 미리 지정된 지리적 범위를 갖는 무선 네트워크 내에서 통신을 위한 이동국으로서,결정된 이동국 추정 위치에서의 상기 이동국이, 상기 네트워크의 우선 통신 영역 내에 있지 않는 경우, 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역 위치에 대한 요청을 시작하도록 구성되는 송신기와,상기 네트워크에 의해 서비스되는 적어도 하나의 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 해당하는 지리적 위치 데이터를 수신하도록 구성되는 수신기와,상기 결정된 이동국 추정 위치로부터 상기 적어도 하나의 우선 통신 영역으로 상기 이동국의 이동을 보조하기 위하여 상기 결정된 이동국 추정 위치에 대한 상기 적어도 하나의 우선 통신 영역의 상대 위치 데이터를 디스플레이하도록 구성된 사용자 출력 장치를 포함하는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국의 추정된 위치를 결정하는 GPS를 더 포함하고,상기 송신기는 현재 이동국의 추정된 위치 데이터를 포함하는 신호를 송신함으로써 상기 미리 지정된 우선 통신 위치 요청을 송신하도록 구성되고,상기 이동국 수신기는 상기 송신된 이동국의 추정된 위치 데이터를 토대로 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 상대 위치 데이터의 형태로 적어도 하나의 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 해당하는 지리적 위치 데이터를 수신하도록 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국 수신기는 상기 이동국이 요청한 송신의 물리적인 특성과 관련된 데이터를 분석하는 무선 네트워크에 의해 결정된 이동국의 추정 위치를 토대로, 상기 네트워크에 의해 결정되는 상대 위치 데이터의 형태로 적어도 하나의 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 해당하는 지리적 위치 데이터를 수신하도록 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국의 추정된 위치를 결정하고, 송신 요청에 응답하여 수신되는 상기 네트워크에 의해 서비스된 적어도 하나의 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 해당하는 지리적 위치 데이터를 토대로 상대 위치 데이터를 계산하는 GPS를 더 포함하는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국은 네트워크 기지국과 직접 통신을 위하여 구성되고, 또한 다른 이동국과 P2P 무선 통신을 위해 구성되며, 상기 이동국 수신기는 또한 네트워크 기지국과 직접 통신시 다른 이동국로부터 중계기를 통해 전송된 요청의 응답을 수신하도록 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 추정된 이동국 위치와 관련이 있는 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역을 가시적으로 디스플레이하기 위하여 구성되는 맵 디스플레이를 더 포함하는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국은 무선랜(WLAN)에서 무선 통신을 위해 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국은 시분할 이중(TDD) 원격 통신 시스템에서 무선 통신을 위해 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 이동국은 주파수 분할 이중(FDD) 원격 통신 시스템에서 무선 통신을 위해 구성되는 것인 이동국.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 사용자 출력 장치는, 소비 전력이 비교적 큰 미리 지정된 우선 통신 영역에 이동국이 물리적으로 위치되지 않는 경우에 활성화되는 전력 이용 표시기를 포함하는 이동국.
