- 액정층을 통해 대향하는 2개의 기판 사이에서의 하나의 화소내 또는 서로 다른 화소간에, 액정층의 두께가 다른 복수의 영역을 구비하고,상기 액정층의 두께가 다른 복수의 영역 중에, 액정층의 두께가 얇은 영역에는 입사하는 빛을 반사하는 반사 영역이 형성되고, 액정층의 두께가 상기 반사 영역의 액정층의 두께보다 두꺼운 영역에는 입사하는 빛을 투과하는 투과 영역이 형성되고,상기 대향하는 2개의 기판 사이에, 셀 갭을 유지하기 위한, 상기 2개의 기판의 대향 방향으로 연장되는 기둥 형상의 스페이서가, 상기 화소의 상기 반사 영역에 형성되어 있고,상기 반사 영역의 한쪽 기판에는 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 형성되어 있는 층간 절연막이 형성되고,상기 투과 영역의 한쪽 기판에는 상기 반사 영역의 상기 층간 절연막에 인접한 홀이 형성되고,상기 투과 영역의 상기 액정층의 두께는 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서의 높이와 상기 반사 영역의 한쪽 기판에 형성된 상기 층간 절연막의 두께와의 합인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 2개의 기판 내의 한쪽 기판 상에는, 컬러 필터층과 블랙 매트릭스층이 형성되고, 상기 블랙 매트릭스층 상에는 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 더 배치되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 상기 컬러 필터층에서의 청(Blue)판 상에 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 블랙 매트릭스층이 개구부를 구비하고, 상기 개구부 내에 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서의 색은 블랙인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 액정층은, 수직 배향성을 갖는 재료로 된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 2개의 기판과 평행 방향에서의 패널의 단면에 있어서, 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 패널의 면적에 차지하는 비율은, 0.05% ~ 3.0%인 액정 표시 장치.

- 제5항에 있어서,상기 기둥형상의 스페이서는, 상기 블랙 매트릭스층의 단연부로부터의 거리가, 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서 부근에 생기는 배향 결함의 영역보다도 길어지도록, 상기 블랙 매트릭스층 위에 배치되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 기둥형상의 스페이서의 높이를, 상기 블랙 매트릭스층의 단연부로부터의 거리가, 상기 기둥형상의 스페이서 부근에 생기는 배향 결함의 영역보다도 길어지도록 설정한 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 블랙 매트릭스층 위에는 러빙 처리가 이루어져 있고,상기 블랙 매트릭스층을 상기 러빙 처리의 방향에 따른 길이가, 상기 기둥형상의 스페이서 부근에 생기는 배향 결함의 영역보다도 길어지도록 형성하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 블랙 매트릭스층의 영역은, 상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서로부터 상기 러빙 처리의 방향의 하류측에 20㎛ 이내로 된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역의 표면은 입사광을 확산하는 요철면과,상기 기둥 형상의 스페이서가 맞닿는 평탄면으로 된 액정 표시 장치.
