処理された剥離層と組み合わせた使用に適するインクは、例えば、(i)水、および場合によって共溶媒を含む溶媒、(ii)負に帯電可能なポリマー樹脂(インクは、ポリマーが負に帯電することを保証するために少量のpHを上げる物質を含んでもよい)、および(iii)少なくとも1種の色素を含む水性インクジェットインクである。好ましくは、水は、インクの少なくとも8重量%を構成し;少なくとも1種の色素は分散されるか、または溶媒内に少なくとも部分的に溶解され、インクの少なくとも1重量%を構成し;ポリマー樹脂は分散されるか、または溶媒内に少なくとも部分的に溶解され、インクの6から40重量%を構成し;ポリマー樹脂の平均分子量は少なくとも8,000であり;吐出前にインクは(i)20−60℃の範囲の少なくとも1つの温度で2から25センチポイズの粘度、および(ii)20−60℃の範囲の少なくとも1つの温度で50ミリニュートン/m以下の表面張力のうちの少なくとも1つを有する。好ましくは、インクは、実質的に乾燥された場合、(a)少なくとも90℃から195℃の範囲の1つの温度で、乾燥したインクは、1,000,000(1x106)cPから300,000,000(3x108)cPの範囲の第1動的粘度を有し、(b)少なくとも50℃から85℃の範囲の1つの温度で、乾燥したインクは少なくとも80,000,000(8x107)cPの第2動的粘度を有し、ここで、第2動的粘度は第1動的粘度を超え;および/または、樹脂と色素の重量比は少なくとも1:1である。色素は、顔料、好ましくは例えば120nm以下の平均粒径(D50)を有するナノ顔料を含んでいてもよい。インクに関して、「実質的に乾燥された」とは、100℃で12時間オーブンで乾燥された後の1mmの初期の厚さのインクの層より溶媒および他の揮発性化合物がないインクを指す。

Claims (10)
- 印刷システムであって、
疎水性剥離層を有する中間転写部材と、
水溶液または分散液が前記中間転写部材の疎水性剥離層上に塗布されるように構成される前処理機構と、
インクの小滴がインク画像を形成するように前処理された中間転写部材上に導かれる画像形成機構であって、前記インクが水性担体中に負に帯電した有機ポリマー樹脂および着色剤を含む、画像形成機構と、
前記インクが、前記インク画像が前記中間転写部材によって運ばれている間に、樹脂および着色剤の残留膜を残すように前記インク画像から前記水性担体を蒸発させることによって乾燥される乾燥機構と、
前記残留膜が前記中間転写部材から基材に転写される加圧機構と、
を備える、印刷システムであり、
前記水溶液または分散液が溶媒およびポリマー化学薬剤を含み、前記ポリマー化学薬剤が、
(a)前記ポリマー化学薬剤の少なくとも3meq/gの正の電荷密度および少なくとも5,000の平均分子量、および
(b)前記ポリマー化学薬剤の少なくとも6meq/gの正の電荷密度および少なくとも1,000の平均分子量
のうちの少なくとも1つを有し、
ただし、前記ポリマー化学薬剤の正の電荷密度が前記ポリマー化学薬剤の6meq/g未満である場合には、そのとき、前記ポリマー化学薬剤の平均分子量は少なくとも5,000である、印刷システム。 - 前記ポリマー化学薬剤が1つ以上の正に帯電可能な窒素原子を含み、前記1つ以上の正に帯電可能な窒素原子が、前記ポリマー化学薬剤の少なくとも1重量%を構成し、前記ポリマー化学薬剤が室温で固体である、請求項1に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記ポリマー化学薬剤が、直鎖ポリエチレンイミン、分岐ポリエチレンイミン、変性ポリエチレンイミン、ポリ(ジアリルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド)、ポリ(4−ビニルピリジン)、ポリアリルアミン、ビニルピロリドン−ジメチルアミノプロピルメタクリルアミドコポリマー、ビニルカプロラクタム−ジメチルアミノプロピルメタクリルアミドヒドロキシエチルメタクリラートターポリマー、硫酸ジエチルで四級化した、ビニルピロリドンとジメチルアミノエチルメタクリラートのコポリマー、グアーヒドロキシプロピルトリモニウムクロリド、ヒドロキシプロピルグアーヒドロキシプロピルトリモニウムクロリド、およびそれらの任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1または請求項2に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記水溶液または分散液の溶媒を、その前記中間転写部材の剥離層上への塗布後に除去するための手段をさらに備える、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記剥離層上への塗布前における前記水溶液または分散液中のポリマー化学薬剤の濃度が5重量%以下であり、前記溶媒の除去後における前記剥離層上のポリマー化学薬剤の濃度が50mg/m2以下である、請求項4に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記剥離層上への塗布後だがそこからの前記溶媒の除去前における前記ポリマー化学薬剤の水溶液の厚さが1000ミクロン未満であり、前記溶媒の除去後における前記剥離層上のポリマー化学薬剤の厚さが1000nm以下である、請求項4または5に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記ポリマー化学薬剤の水溶液または分散液が塗布されるときの前記剥離層の温度が少なくとも100℃である、請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記基材が135g/m2の坪量を有する被覆デジタル印刷紙であるときに、前記基材上の印刷画像の光学濃度が、同一条件下であるが前記中間転写部材の剥離層上への前記ポリマー化学薬剤の塗布を伴わずに印刷がされるときの同じ画像の光学濃度より少なくとも50%大きい、請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載の印刷システム。
- 前記画像の前記基材への転写後に、その上に前記インクが吐出された前記剥離層の領域が前記ポリマー化学薬剤を含まない、請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の印刷システム。
