In an underfeed stoker air is supplied to a plenum chamber A through a channel formed in a boxplate E supporting a conveyer tube B and immediately below the said tube, the sides of the channel at a point thereof extending into the chamber A being cut away at e<SP>1</SP> so that air flows evenly from both sides of the channel. Specification 727,169 is referred to.
