Means for feeding fuel to a furnace grate comprises a tube 1 supplied with fuel by a feeder 8 and with air by a nozzle 7 and connected to an air-recirculating duct 5. A damper 11 controls the volume of air recirculated. Hot gases are withdrawn from the furnace through a duct 9 connected to the duct 5.
