Abstract

798,783. Supplying air to travelling grates. C.U.R.A. PATENTS, Ltd. Aug. 10, 1954 [July 7, 1952], No. 17085/52. Class 51 (1). Air for combustion is supplied to the fuel on a travelling grate through an open-topped box 6 having an air inlet 7 and a hinged plate 8 which forms the base of an air passage of progressively diminishing cross section from the feed to the discharge end of the grate. The inclination of the plate may be varied by a crank 10 on a shaft 11 rotatable through a crank 12 and connecting-rod 13.
