About this audiobook

A “sly and genuinely creepy” (PopSugar) suspense novel about a young couple whose disintegrating marriage and remote new home make for a terrifying descent into the darker side of human nature—from the New York Times bestselling author of A Simple Favor.

When Emma’s husband, Ben, falls in love with a large Victorian mansion for sale in rural upstate New York, he swears to her the fixer-upper will be worth the risk. With a baby on the way, Emma would like to live in a charming, safe community, and in a space larger than a one-bedroom New York City apartment. On impulse, she agrees to Ben’s plan, and they put in an offer on the house.

Sure, the mansion has a somewhat creepy backstory and is a bit dilapidated, but Emma and Ben are in this together. When strange things start happening, Emma begins to experience a little buyer’s remorse. What’s the real history of this house? Is its dark history repeating itself? Why does her husband suddenly seem so distant? Is she in danger? Is her baby?

An intensely “chilling novel” (Shelf Awareness), All I Want combines the domestic anxiety of Liane Moriarty with the haunting twists and turns of Shirley Jackson.

I loved this book all the way through until the last chapter. That is why I gave it four stars instead of five. That last twist, I did not like. It is worth the read though!

The ending ruins the story for me and makes everything mute… IDK why the author made that choice… it’s like the whole table is set and the food looks great but when you go to taste it, everything is made out of styrofoam!!…lol. It’s that disappointing to me.. EVERYTHING IS GREAT except for the ending

I have never been so upset at an ending to a book. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen and you flipped it and now I don’t even know what was real and what was not. Good read!

I kept thinking I had it figured out...and then it would twist. I was thoroughly entertained. And that ending.... wow. Loved this book!

Great book if you end it before the last chapter. You are invested in the characters and then the last chapter has ruined everything. Disappointing.

The end is slightly confusing to follow but leaves you hanging until the last sentence. Great listen. Thank you.

Well that was different! Definitely kept me wanting more. Intriguing characters, and loved the imagery of the town and home. Loved the creepy mood throughout the book. Never a lack of twists.

Honestly this book was really great, until that last chapter. I get what the author was intending, to leave the reader unsettled and unsure of the truth, but to me it fell flat. I really liked it otherwise and want to check out more from this author
