      I definitely didn't see the twist coming. The author's books always start off in a way where you think you know what's going to happen but I'm always surprised.

      The only thing that made the book not great were the characters. All the characters were underwhelming and pretty bland and sometimes even annoying. I wasn't actively rooting for anyone even when I was supposed to cause I couldn't emotionally connect to them.

      Good but not great! I've listened to many frieda McFadden books and this was one of the weaker ones in my opinion. I enjoyed it but just not as much as the others such as The boyfriend,The teacher and the wife Upstairs.

      I had taken a brake from Freida McFadden's books and decided to listen to this one. The storyline, suspense and writing is always good but after the previous books I now had a fairly good idea of what the twists would be and I was right on the money! apart from something revealed midway which wasn't exactly a twist. From my point of view all the twists were predictable, and I'm sure it was the same for readers who have read/ listened to other stories by McFadden!

      Well I was going to swear off Freida's books for a bit but...... I tried listening to a few other books and they were so boring. Freida's books are never boring. Yes she does use a lot of the same types of things in all her books; however, the books are always entertaining and engaging. This is the first one of her books were I figured out what was going to happen a few chapters before the big reveal. Unlike many of the other readers though, I did not like the end. I was hoping for something different for Liam. It was still a good book and a decent read.

      This may be a great book (all of Freida's books are) but I am only 2 chapters in and I can not stand the narrator. So disgustingly annoying ugh she ruined it! She talks like an annoying upper east side middle aged woman with a mouth full of food. Nope cant do it.

      The narrator’s slow pace made for a tedious listen. I suggest changing the speed to 1.2 for a more enjoyable listen.
