About this audiobook
An instant New York Times bestseller!
""Sharp, stylish and stunning...Foley's best yet."" — Chris Whitaker, New York Times bestselling author of All the Colors of the Dark
""It is an absolute bonkers delight (and I haven’t even mentioned the local bird cult yet …)."" — NPR, Best Books of the Year
Secrets. Lies. Murder. Let the festivities begin…
It’s the opening night of The Manor, the newest and hottest luxury resort, and no expense, small or large, has been spared. The infinity pool sparkles; the “Manor Mule” cocktail (grapefruit, ginger, vodka, and a dash of CBD oil) is being poured with a heavy hand. Everyone is wearing linen.
But under the burning midsummer sun, darkness stirs. Old friends and enemies circulate among the guests. Just outside the Manor’s immaculately kept grounds, an ancient forest bristles with secrets. And it’s not too long before the local police are called. Turns out the past has crashed the party, with deadly results.
THE GIRLBOSS · THE HUSBAND · THE KITCHEN HELP · THE MYSTERY GUEST
Everyone’s got a secret. Everyone’s got an agenda. But not everyone will survive…The Midnight Feast
""Foley’s usual techniques of unraveling the central mystery through multiple timelines and narrators are paralleled by the spiraling events of the weekend, which careen from juice shots and yoga on the lawn to a chaotic climax at a hallucinogen-fueled bacchanal where hidden identities and multiple murders are brought to light. It is an absolute bonkers delight"" — NPR
Editor's Note
Hints of the supernatural…
When guests arrive to celebrate the opening weekend of a luxurious English resort, they have no idea the festivities will end in murder. From the author of “The Paris Apartment” comes an eerie tale that combines locked-room whodunit, psychological thriller, and hints of the supernatural. A TV series adaptation of “The Midnight Feast” is already in the works.

If you can listen to the audio version and love thrillers, do yourself a favor and start this one immediately! I would wholeheartedly give this book ten stars! It’s easily in my top ten favorite books. Yes, it’s that good. The characters, build up of their storyline, and plot were all stellar!! AND that ending - just WOW! I don’t want want to say too much and give anything away because I want future readers to be as caught up and then surprised as I was. The audio version was in my opinion, perfection! The narrators “fit” the characters emotions and backgrounds! It felt as though I was listening to a movie. Speaking of such, this book would make an excellent film or possibly a short series. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I just love the way Lucy Foley writes. And this did not disappoint. I bounced between the printed book and the audio book. The narration was perfect. If you love a good mystery with a dash of supernatural ( I promise not too much) read or listen to this book now. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I enjoyed the drama, the mysteraly, the shaaaade.
I was joining in the hate towards Francesca since the beginning. There are some plot twists that surprised me and some that i definitely saw coming.
My favorite character was Eddie for suuure and by far.

The opening pages of the novel sparked very little interest, but about a third of the way into the story the pace increased so dramatically that it was hard to lay the book aside. The author's focus of the ancient pagan belief about "the birds" became an ever-present element and that and the dark forest vibes gave the story a touch of the supernatural. The story is told from several viewpoints and includes sections from one character's summer journal which provides valuable insights. Foley alternates between the past and the present to slowly reveal the relationship between the two, and as that relationship takes place, we begin to see that the past and present lives of the characters are revealed in unexpected twists. About three fourths into the story, I thought I could see where it was going to wind up. Absolutely not! Somehow, I missed the connection between the two Walkers. And although it was foreshadowed, didn't suspect the real identity of Franchesca's husband. But the wonderful twist that will keep me thinking about The Midnight Feast for a long time was the revelation of the secret of "the birds" as the story ended. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Lucy Foley did it again! I'm out of my reading slump and have +1 good read. First half of the story was okay, had a lot of unnecessary "are you seeing this?" and "what's that in the dark?" moments that were supposed to set up this spooky, in-the-dark-woods atmosphere, but happening too often just ruined the mood. But the second half did improve a whole lot and the reveals were a one giant emotional rollercoaster. I liked this one.
3 books by the author read in one year! That definitely says something. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Mixed bag. All a bit too Gothic. The "bad guy" was really too much. Too many of the characters were mere sketches and cliches. Convoluted plotting. The best part was the very end - ironic and funny. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Good story with a good ending. Quite a few unexpected twists but it takes so very long until the story really picks up a pace! Nothing close to 'The Paris apartment' which I rated at 5, or 'the 'Guest list' & 'Hunting Party', but still an enjoyable read or 'listen' :) - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5

Not her best. I’ve loved some of her other books which were very gripping, this one was a mix of several of her other books but told in a very cringey way. The character development was lacking and her main theme could’ve been done better in a more sinister way, but it came across comical and childish. Just not good.1 person found this helpful
