Claims (17)
- 기판과,상기 기판으로 지지되며, 제1 내지 제3 영역을 포함하는 고체화 액정층을 구비하고,상기 제1 내지 제3 영역은 상기 기판 상에서 배열되며, 메소겐의 배향 정도가 서로 다른 리타데이션 기판.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 연속막인 리타데이션 기판.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 균일한 두께를 갖는 리타데이션 기판.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 서모트로픽(thermotropic) 액정 화합물 또는 조성물을 중합 및/또는 가교시켜 이루어지는 리타데이션 기판.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판과 상기 고체화 액정층 사이에 개재하거나 또는 상기 고체화 액정층을 사이에 끼우고 상기 기판과 마주 향한 컬러 필터층을 더 구비하고,상기 컬러 필터층은 흡수 스펙트럼이 서로 다르고, 상기 제1 내지 제3 영역과 각각 마주 향한 제1 내지 제3 착색층을 포함하고 있는 리타데이션 기판.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 연속막인 리타데이션 기판.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 균일한 두께를 갖는 리타데이션 기판.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 고체화 액정층은 서모트로픽 액정 화합물 또는 조성물을 중합 및/또는 가교시켜 이루어지는 리타데이션 기판.
- 서로 마주 향한 제1 및 제2 기판과,상기 제1 및 제2 기판 사이에 끼워진 액정층과,상기 제1 기판의 상기 제2 기판과 마주 향한 주요면으로 지지되며, 제1 내지 제3 영역을 포함하고, 상기 제1 내지 제3 영역은 상기 기판 상에서 배열되며, 메소겐의 배향 정도가 서로 다른 고체화 액정층과,상기 제1 및 제2 기판 사이에서 상기 제1 또는 제2 기판으로 지지되며, 제1 내지 제3 착색층을 포함하고, 상기 제1 내지 제3 착색층은 흡수 스페트럼이 서로 다르며, 상기 제1 내지 제3 영역과 각각 마주 향하고 있는 컬러 필터층을 구비한 액정 표시 장치.
- 기판 상에 고체화 액정층을 형성하는 것을 포함하고, 상기 고체화 액정층의 형성은,상기 기판 상에 광중합성 또는 광가교성 서모트로픽 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 서모트로픽 액정 화합물의 메소겐이 배향 구조를 형성하고 있는 액정 재료층을 형성하는 것과,상기 액정 재료층의 2개 이상의 영역을 다른 노광량으로 노광하여, 상기 액정 재료층 중에 상기 서모트로픽 액정 화합물의 중합 또는 가교 생성물을 포함하는 제1 영역과, 상기 중합 또는 가교 생성물과 미반응 화합물로서의 상기 서모트로픽 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 중합 또는 가교 생성물의 함유율이 상기 제1 영역과 비교하여 보다 낮은 제2 영역과, 상기 미반응 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 중합 또는 가교 생성물의 함유율이 상기 제2 영역과 비교하여 보다 낮은 제3 영역을 형성하는 것과,그 후, 상기 액정 재료층을 상기 서모트로픽 액정 화합물이 액정상에서 등방상으로 변화되는 상 전이 온도와 동일한 온도 이상으로 가열하여, 적어도 상기 제2 및 제3 영역에서 상기 메소겐의 배향 정도를 저하시키는 것과,상기 배향 정도를 저하시킨 채로 상기 미반응 화합물을 중합 및/또는 가교시키는 것을 포함하는 리타데이션 기판의 제조 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 액정 재료층을 균일한 두께를 갖는 연속막으로서 형 성하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 광 조사에 의해서 상기 미중합 및 미가교된 서모트로픽 액정 화합물을 중합 및/또는 가교시키는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 상기 미중합 및 미가교된 서모트로픽 액정 화합물의 중합 및/또는 가교는, 상기 제1 내지 제3 영역을 형성하기 위한 노광량과 상기 미중합 및 미가교된 서모트로픽 액정 화합물을 중합 및/또는 가교시키기 위한 노광량과의 합인 합계 노광량이 상기 제1 내지 제3 영역 사이에서 같아지도록 행하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 액정 재료층 전체를 노광함으로써 상기 미중합 및 미가교된 서모트로픽 액정 화합물을 중합 및/또는 가교시키는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 서모트로픽 액정 화합물은 상기 상 전이 온도보다 높은 중합 및/또는 가교 온도로 가열함으로써 중합 및/또는 가교되는 재료이고, 상기 메소겐기의 배향 정도는 상기 액정 재료층을 상기 중합 및/또는 가교 온도 미만의 온도로 가열함으로써 저하시키고, 상기 미중합 및 미가교된 서모트로픽 액정 화합물은 상기 액정 재료층을 상기 중합 및/또는 가교 온도 이상의 온도로 가열함으로써 중합 및/또는 가교시키는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 고체화 액정층을 형성하기 전에 상기 기판 상에 컬러 필터층을 형성하는 것을 더 포함하고,상기 고체화 액정층은 상기 컬러 필터층 상에 형성하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 고체화 액정층 상에 컬러 필터층을 형성하는 것을 더 포함하는 방법.
