Description
本発明は、全てが2008年2月5日に出願された米国仮出願第61/026,300号、第61/026,309号、第61/026,324号、第61/026,336号、第61/026,357号、及び第61/026,374号の優先権を主張し、その開示内容全体が参考として本明細書で援用される。
本発明は、微生物、例えば尿のような生体サンプル中の微生物、例えばバクテリアの同定及び定量化を行うためのシステムに関する。より具体的には、本発明は、使い捨てカートリッジ及び先細り表面を有する光学カップ又はキュベットと、光学式読取装置及び熱コントローラを含む光学システムと、光学式分析装置及び改良された分光計とを備えるシステムに関する。このシステムは、その使い捨てカートリッジをサンプルプロセッサで利用することができ、光学カップ又はキュベットを光学式分析装置で利用することができる。
サンプルの温度を冷却して制御するためのシステムは光学式分析装置内に位置する。
光学式分析装置内のサンプルの温度を冷却して制御するための前記システムは、周囲温度から所望の温度にサンプルを冷却し、且つ光学式分析装置でのサンプルの処理が完了するまでサンプルの温度を所望の温度に実質的に維持するように構成される。
Claims (29)
- 光学分析に使用するための生体サンプルを保持するための光学カップであって、
透明材料製で前記生体サンプルを含有する矩形容器を備え、前記矩形容器は2枚の離間した側壁、第1の端壁、第2の端壁及び床を更に含み、
前記矩形容器は、前記生体サンプルを受容するための矩形開口、及び、前記第1の端壁から前記床に向かって前記矩形開口に対して内側下方に延出する下部先細り領域を有し、
前記第1の端壁の深さは、前記側壁および前記第2の端壁の深さ未満であり、前記下部先細り領域は前記矩形開口から入射した照明ビームを受け、前記照明ビームを前記生体サンプルを通して反射するように構成された表面を有する光学カップ。 - 前記生体サンプルと接触し、前記生体サンプルの光学分析のために前記生体サンプルを通る光を収集するためのリボンライナーを更に備える請求項1に記載の光学カップ。

前記下部先細り領域は、前記光学カップの開口から入射した照明ビームを受け、前記照明ビームを前記生体サンプルを通して反射するように構成された表面を有し、且つ、
前記光学カップを位置決めして支持するための前記コンパートメントは矩形光学カップを受容して支持するための矩形開口を有する使い捨てカートリッジ。 - 前記使い捨てカートリッジは射出成形され且つプラスチック材料製である請求項23に記載の使い捨てカートリッジ。
- 前記遠心分離管及び前記ピペットを位置決めして支持するための前記コンパートメントは円筒形であり、且つ前記遠心分離管及び前記ピペットの長さに実質的に延出する請求項23に記載の使い捨てカートリッジ。
- 前記光学カップを位置決めして支持するための前記コンパートメントは前記使い捨てカートリッジ内に実質的に包含され、且つ前記光学カップの形状と同様の形状を有する請求項23に記載の使い捨てカートリッジ。
- 前記カートリッジをマガジン内部に取付けるためのマガジン開口と協働するよう構成された少なくとも1個の取付クリップを含む請求項23に記載の使い捨てカートリッジ。
- 少なくとも1個の位置合わせ部材を含む請求項27に記載の使い捨てカートリッジ。
- 前記矩形容器の前記矩形開口は、そこを通して入射した照明ビームを受け、前記下部先細り領域は前記照明ビームを受け、前記照明ビームを前記生体サンプルを通して反射し、前記第2の端壁に接触し、前記下部先細り領域に戻るような位置に位置付けられ、光学解析のため前記矩形容器の上方へ蛍光を出射する請求項1に記載の光学カップ。
