Abstract
【解決手段】蓄電装置用の電極において、集電体と、集電体上の、第1の活物質層と、該第1の活物質層上の、酸化ニオブを有する粒子および粒状の活物質を含む第2の活物質層と、を有する電極を用いることにより、蓄電装置の充放電サイクル特性およびレート特性を向上させることができる。さらに、粒状の活物質と酸化ニオブを有する粒子が接することによって、粒状の活物質が物理的に固定され、蓄電装置の充放電に伴う活物質の膨張または収縮による微粉化、集電体からの剥がれ等の劣化を抑制することができる。

Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である蓄電装置の電極およびその作製方法について、図1および図2を用いて説明する。
ここで、酸化ニオブを有する粒子109の作製方法について説明する。まず、ニオブアルコキシド(Nb(OCH2CH3)5)に対して、安定化剤のアセト酢酸エチルと溶媒のトルエンを加えて撹拌して溶液を作製する。次に、該溶液中のニオブアルコキシドが大気中の水分と徐々に反応し、化学式1に示す加水分解反応によって縮合してゲル化する。
次に、図1に示した電極の作製方法について、図2を参照して説明する。
ここで、スラリーの作製方法について説明する。上述したように、ゾルゲル法などによって作製された酸化ニオブを有する粒子、粒状の活物質、バインダ、導電助剤、粘度調整剤を混合・撹拌して、粒状の活物質表面に酸化ニオブを有する粒子が付着したスラリーを作製する。スラリーの調製は、バインダを含ませた溶媒に導電助剤を分散させ、そこに活物質を混ぜる。このとき分散性向上のために、溶媒の量を抑え固練りを行うことが好ましい。その後、溶媒を追加し、スラリーを作製する。活物質、導電助剤、バインダおよび溶媒の割合は適宜調整することができるが、導電助剤とバインダの比率が高いほうが、活物質量当たりの電池性能を上げることができる。
本実施の形態では、蓄電装置の構造について、図3を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態2で説明した蓄電装置の応用形態について図4を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様に係る蓄電装置の一例である二次電池を、無線給電システム(以下、RF給電システムと呼ぶ。)に用いた場合の一例を、図5および図6のブロック図を用いて説明する。なお、各ブロック図では、受電装置および給電装置内の構成要素を機能ごとに分類し、互いに独立したブロックとして示しているが、実際の構成要素は機能ごとに完全に切り分けることが困難であり、一つの構成要素が複数の機能に係わることもあり得る。
